EGGS,
Why don't we go back from the start?
Where we met near the leaves.
CATTERPILLARS,
The stage when always being fed with love.
PUPA,
We started to change.
Our love was becoming mature and continued to grow.
Always afraid of being let go.
BUTTERFLIES,
You spread your wings and started to fly.
All you did was to make me cry.
Our love was full of colors,
But you flew to another flower.
Just like a life span of a butterfly,
It only lasts for two weeks,
so our Love is.
I connected the life cycle of a butterfly into love.

Moth or butterfly?
It isn't the caterpillar that decides
I'd be a moth

Weary with sleep
No longer yours to keep
In that night,
It takes flight
Moving undetected
An itching to be dissected.

A butterfly;
What more is there to it?
It goes through a grand
Metamorphosis
From caterpillar to a chrysalis
Chrysalis to butterfly
Then it mates
Lays eggs
And dies.

A human, on the other hand;
A spiders web of complexity.
It is born
It grows for years
Quickly learning
Speaking, crawling, walking,
Eventually going off to learn more
A few hours a day
Carefree, naive,
So blind to reality
That one day
It will mature
It might mate
It will have stopped growing and learning
Stuck as it is
Then slowly deteriorating
Withering away
Until one day
It dies.

Like millions before it.
It is insignificant
Unmemorable
Soon forgotten.

Why?
Because that is reality
You live, you die, & everything goes on.
In 100 years, it is but a skeleton
Just bones; mass
No brain, therefore no consciousness
Only black.

Unless it made a difference.
A change to the world.
Then it is still remembered.
But still,
All is black.

Butterfly floats
In the wind
And like a helicopter
Lands on my
Queen Anne's Lace
As i take a picture.

In my search for the universe
I heard the wingbeats of a butterfly
Wandering from the moon to the earth
I saw the stars sprinkle dust of love
Onto lands uncharted
And in those moments
I discovered worlds inside you

Today a butterfly
fluttered through the sky.

Swooping, drawing near,
floating close enough to hear,

the wish whispered softly,
through teardrops a little salty.

It landed on the little nose
and heard the giggle as it goes.

To the heavens it soared up high,
releasing the wish on a little sigh.

So maybe, we are glow sticks,
that need to break to glow.

So maybe, we are caterpillars
who digest themselves during metamorphosis,
to transform into a butterfly.

So maybe, we are stars
that need to collapse
in order to shine brightly.

So maybe, we need to breakdown,
to pick up the pieces and cast ourselves
as someone different.

So maybe, we need to shed
to become a better version.

So maybe, all this
crumbling
breaking
collapsing
was never a destruction
but a birth to something beautiful.

we gravitate towards pretty things;
butterflies
and flowers,
but the ugly things
we hate
ants and beetles,
all insects alike
but we are quick to fling them away
killing them with one stomp
but when a butterfly lands on our shoulder
we take it as good luck

if the world didn't teach us
that we have to be pretty
if we want to be loved
would we still be petrified
of the creatures that surround us?

I’ve been,
Crawling,
Down on the dirt,
On my abdomen.
Searching,
For a tree,
To hang from,
To set the butterfly free.

This skin I wear,
Encases me,
When I’ve molted,
I will be free.
I will wiggle off the confounds,
Of bone and flesh,
Of space and time,
And of birth and death.

I was once,
A baby larva.
Eating my birth leaf.
I was so small and hungry then,
But I have eaten enough now.
It’s time to harden,
This old soft skin.

When I pass,
Through this knot,
In the infinite,
Line of life.
I will squirm out of my biology,
Taking on a whole new body.
That’s beyond all senses,
Beyond our limitations,
Beyond our imaginations!

Butterfly!
You call to me!
Butterfly!
You will be free!
Your time has come,
You have been waiting,
For this moment,
To break out!

That inner beauty is shining through,
Becoming that apparatus that moves you!
Listen to the rhythm of the beating butterfly wings!

Am I,
Just an isolated ray of sunshine,
Or am I,
The one behind the sun?
Am I,
Just some burden for light to bare,
Or am I,
The one who will bare the light?
Am I,
Just some insignificant speck,
On a spinning ball?
Or am I,
Something so much more?

I tricked myself so long ago,
Thought I was nothing more,
Than a worm on a tree,
Stuck to the a sphere,
Spinning out to nowhere.
This body is just an egg,
That encapsulates me,
Soon it will hatch,
And I will be free.

We are all larva,
We all have a butterfly.
Come and crawl with me,
Get down on your abdomen,
We are going to find a tree,
To hang from upside down,
And set the butterfly free.
