There once was a man and a girl
Alone in the world,
Both almost forgotten.

But one lonely night,
He only did sight
The girl alone at the bar.

Her eyes matched the stars
As he came from afar.
He joined that girl,
And they twisted and twirled
Both without a thought.

The forgotten man almost forgot to say
The one reason he never looked away.

It could have been her eyes
That shined as if they were stars.
It could have been
The way she looked at his scars.
It could have been the way they danced and didn’t think,

But the one true reason he couldn’t look away was
She was quite a vision in pink.

m.c.c.
Almost.
Almost more than a friend.
Almost more than the moon.
Almost more than the girl sitting next to me.
Almost enough for you.

Almost felt a smile when I saw you.
Almost told you what I thought.
Almost felt tears when you walked away.
Almost.

I think I love you too much,
Or I almost do.

I'm sorry for being so quiet the first time we met. Truth is that in my head, I couldn't stop writing poems about your eyes.

As the weather changes
I begin to start anew
I have become so much greater
There are things that I still have
Left from the old
But they are now mixed with the new

I have moved on
You are no longer my greatest desire
You stopped trying
So I did the same
In the end it will be better
But for now,
I still feel a twinge in my heart
When our eyes meet

I have found something new
Something wonderful
Though it could never be quite the same
It will be close
My heart can still be filled.

Not with the gold of your hair
Or the cheer of optimism
But by the dark black of a midnight rose
That will only bloom for me.
One without thorns that will stab me
When all I want to do is hold you.

The petals will not wither
Or fall like tears upon my cheek
To be blown away
And leave forever.

She will be different
She will care
She will not leave me in pain
She will not break my heart and soul
To leave me with nothing.

I almost had you;

at least that’s what it felt like,

seems like you had me.

I love you sounds cliche, but I suppose it will work in place of the words I don't know how to say. I love you is over used, there is so much more to me and you.

I love you is so short, to explain such a large impact. I love you doesn't cut it ; not like the pain of being away from you cuts.

I love you is misplaced by circumstance and childish games. I love you is what I tell you every day, I wish I had another way, some other phrase that could tell you more.

I love you couldn't tell you what I feel towards you, but it's what I have for now, dear. I'll try my best to, maybe someday, turn it into "I do."
