i used to know a lot of people.
life apparently does you like that
but there was one
i came to know
in school
this girl that seemed
spectacular.
everything about her screamed...
well, everything about her screamed.
she was like an idol
i aspired to be
just like her
command a crowd like she did-
but i had my limits
and she had none
she never feared to be loud
and wild and free
like a mad horse
in a field of grassy daylight.
but people aren't horses
and nighttime always
comes to claim us.
and it's easy to see differences
when you're younger.
i look at the same girl today-
and i worry.
she seems to have lost
what little sanity she has left
she pulls her hair
chases false love
forgets pain in bottles
scolds others for life
everything about her screams...
well, everything about her screams
****** ******
i look in the mirror
and hold myself close
i could have been her,
i could still become her.
but there is still time-
to continue
to be
me
and know some better people.
Would nectar be as sweet, if bees did not adore it?
From miles away it’s intoxicating smell, alluring them
Waiting to be ******, as the flower can’t bear the load
One drop contains all the sweetness of nature
Immortalized as the elixir of life, since time immemorial
If it was not for the bees, we would have been deprived
Of that drop of sweetness, that can match the lover’s delight
Making this world a sweeter place, dripping from flowers
Honey, here I come with the magic potion
Enjoying every drop of it, as we adore it, as much as the bees*

Everywhere there is darkness descending
Gradually threatening to take over humanity
The only audible voices is of grievance
Diminishing light of the eyes; only vices visible
The parasitic dodder has destroyed crops
Pests and locusts have abducted the grains
Starvation is causing uproar amongst people
Waterways and the fresh rivers are contaminated
Every drop of water has turned to poison
We are all exhausted and smothered with desperation
Covered in dust and mud, the minds are all paralyzed
The sun’s rays now obliterated the ozone layer
Ultraviolet rays now degenerating us faster
Ocean’s have breached the lands at alarming rates
As if rubbing salt over our wounds and despair
There is anarchy, protest and resentment everywhere
All humanity is up against nature, trying to salvage
The last remaining hope to save this Earth

While writing this, it sent down shivers down my spine. What if this grim situation ever arrives and threatens this beautiful planet. This is the only inhabitable planet till now, so we got to take care of it.

we have our own worlds;
we are completely unanimous

we'll never leave,
now that you've drawn us by your magnetism
you are essential

coexistingly contradistinct;
has no one enlightened you?
you, I, all of us
are celestial bodies
in the vast space
and we orbit around you

pirouette and waltz on our own particular rhythms
we are on different belts, but even then,
don't you see?
parallel lines don't meet

don't ever forget,
for every time you crumble,
a new star is born;
your rebirth
embrace this because

Sun, you are a star

I'm an avid reader of books,  many different books
Tolstoys War And Peace took me seven days to read
Lord Of The Rings Trylogy just 3 days
One of those books I've read just once
The other I could almost quote
word
for
word
I read some truly great works of poetry here
Some simple with a message loud and clear
easily understood
Some long but with a rhythmic flow
the sort of poem where you cant let go
Then there is the long drawn out dirge
full of metaphors and unusual words that I don't even understand
I might read it once,  try to understand then file it under done
I just write the simple stuff,  that's what I do best
But, no matter how or what you write its all good.

After all, poetry is not a test ~
it is an expression of our humanity.
