I was afraid
Of my passion
And my desires
And my fire

I’ve been suppressed
Playing small
Until now

Now I am a Phoenix
Rising from the ashes

Standing in my power

And my power is magnificent

Hugs
And
Affection
Are
Essentials
For
Life
And
A
Crying
Shame
When
Absent
For
The
Majority
Of
One’s
Life

When your mind is full of trouble and strife
Take a deep long breath and
Go inwards
Listen
Honour
Be patient
Be kind
To yourself
For your soul is desperately
Trying to get your attention
To help join the dots
To speak it’s truth
And bring you peace

When something comes up that I need to address
I don’t eat
I don’t drink
My stomach churns.
That is a sign to
Look inwards
Trust my gut
Ask questions
Explore
Write poetry
Journal
Sit
Be
Know I’m safe
Trust the process
For my soul is wanting
To be heard
It wants to speak
And it’s the only way it can get
My attention

Slowly
Learning and
Understanding and
Becoming
More confident
More assertive
More bad-***
Till you
Can stand
In your power
And no ******
Can come close
To you
Unless you say so

Phone call
Out of the blue
Sister in law abroad
Screaming down phone
Reassuring her it’s all going to be ok.
Brother rushed to hospital
Cardiac arrest
In the sea
While training for channel swim
Dragged ashore on board
Laying on pebbles
Heart stopped
Fortunately
Doctor and two nurses
Nearby
Pumping heart
Back to life
While curious onlookers watched
Nonchalantly
While eating their sandwiches
Amongst the steely determination
To bring life back
Thrashing arms
Made it too unsafe
For rescue by helicopter
So by road instead

Hospital emergency
Heart stopped
Again
Brought back to life
Again
Induced coma
To recover
High alert
Family worried sick

But for me
Calmness
Awareness
A knowing
He’s not ready to go
Nurses confused by my
Lightness
Asking if I’m really ok.
Yes I’m ok
Because I know
It’s all going to be ok
My brother is not yet ready to give up

And sure enough
Defying all doctor’s expectations
Awakening early
From induced coma
Physically weak
Mentally strong as an ox
With no lasting damage
It’s a miracle they shout
When quite simply
He just wasn’t ready
It wasn’t his time

The tragedy is in repeating  
Those sins done unto you
Your parental sins
Your ancestral sins
Chained to your neck
Weighing you down
Blighting the lives of everything you touch.
But now
Your choice
Is whether to remain shackled
Bound to fear and repression
Or to break free
And step into
Your desires
Your potential
Your possibilities
Your love
Your divine glory

The secret is in the direction of your gaze
Are you looking up or down?
Forwards or back?
That is the choice for you.
The more rewarding
But not always so easy
Is to keep looking up
Above the golden sun ☀️
In all its bright brazen glory
And focus on the positivity
The fun
And the
Joy

Just do it
Just because it feels good
Just because you want to
Just because your soul desires it
Just because

What is true?
What is not?
Is that demon speak?
Ego speak?
Soul speak?
It’s all true.
It’s all not true.
So where does that leave me
Other than confused...

Years of ersatz compliments
Absorbed and believed,
Positive compliments ignored
For not aligning with beliefs
Instilled from birth.

Awareness of ego‘s need for
Reassurance and
Validation
No matter how false
As long as feeding insatiable negative self belief.

Yet also curiosity
To know how one is seen.

Yet also a knowing that the body is yet a trifle,
Compliments meaningless
Just flattery and opinion and
Not to be believed.

What’s true? What’s not?
All tangled knots to trip you up.
Or perhaps there’s a ploy afoot
To stop
Unknown feelings arising
In fear of where they may lead.....

Here I am observing actors on stage
Playing out their roles
Their destinies
And knowing one actor
Is me,
Yet I’m the only one who hasn’t read the script
Or know where it leads
Playing blind
While all around
Others watch her every move
To see how she responds
To the twists and turns in the
play
Except at the same time there is no script
The future depends on the reaction
Of that actor in that moment
With all the responsibility and risk that carries

Zoning out
Reading a book
Watching iplayer
General chit chat with friends  
Taking mind off
Freeing up space
Allowing your soul to
Process
And file away
So can come back afresh
With clearer clarity
And understanding
And readiness to advance
Step by step
To the next stage  
Of the journey

Overthinking
Leads to one thing,
Doing Nothing.

Always keeping busy
No time
To stop and stare
No time
To hear and smell
No time
To touch and feel
No time
To appreciate beauty all around
No time
To support those less fortunate
No time
For joy
No time
At all
Only time
To be busy
Silly fool,
For time slips through fingers like dust
Ever advancing towards the end
Upon the final judgement
Reflecting on your life’s work
Knowing you fully lived
Or were dead
Years before your time

We create ourselves through our thoughts, words and deeds
We have choice in every given moment
Choice to look forward with hope or fear
Or to the past with its demons
Choice to choose the right path to enlightenment
Or the slippery ***** to hell,
Choose wisely
Love
Or
Fear
What choose you?

Regrets.
Such a wasted emotion
For what can you do
About what is past.
Certainly you can choose to examine what happened
But objectively
In terms of cause and reaction
Explore what was said and done that led to x, y, z,
That way you can stop repeating
Your sins  
And choose a different path
A healthier way
For you
For me
For the universe

I’m still here.
I’m still alive.
What happened,
Doesn’t change who I am.
I’ve been living in
My uncomfortable comfort zone
It’s just what I’m used to
Its familiar
But now I’m ready
To step outside
And to be an active participant
In my life
A protagonist
With all my passions and desires
And to live my life
With intent
And with
Love

There is an alternative way
To the barbed words
Catty comments
And sharp claws.
There is an alternative possibility
To the aggressive words
Constant fights
Hard lost battles
Born of fear,
And oh so tiring now.
I’m ready
To let my guard down
To reveal my vulnerability
To come home.

Put your claws away
Wipe your tears
Relax into the warm embrace
You are safe now
Your are home now
You are at peace now

How do I break these cords
To my past experiences and bitter memories
That keep raising their ugly heads
That keep me playing small
That keep messing up
a ******* good friendship?

Relax into the embrace
Soul’s embrace
All encompassing embrace
Of divine love
The oh so powerful
Feminine energy,
Breathe
Into the deep warming embrace
Knowing you are safe
Protected
And loved
Very much

Thank you

For being there
For being by my side
For being so strong
For lending me your strength
For allowing me to lean on you
Through these temporary yet troubled storms
Once crushed by others
But now of my causing
And my choice to cease
When I remember to
Rise above, easily and consistently

I can see now
How you were not intimidated by the lashing out
From her own hidden agenda
Fighting others people’s fights
Instead of her own,
Born of fear
Of her dementor,
Fears
That we all buy into
So easily, too easily.

And then there was I,
So naturally and easily,
Yet surprisingly,
Helping her shape and bend her lightening rod
With love, acceptance and understanding
To set her on her way
On a new direction
To sail the seas to who know where
But one of her choosing
And also knowing the door’s still unlocked
If and when the time is right

I breathe in & my body relaxes
I breathe out & I let go
I breathe in & my body is calm
I breathe out & I smile

It’s been a long ole winding road
Yet now all the sweeter
And the rewards much the greater
For all the hard fought challenges along the way

Everything you do
Everything you say
Everything you feel
Everything that happens to you
Is for you
For your lesson
For your greater good.
Your words create your world
So choose your words and
Your actions
Carefully
And
With
Love
Compassion
And
Respect

I am free now
I let go of old memories no longer serving me
I overwrite old habits holding me back
My future is of my choosing
I am free now
And of such unforeseen immense worth and power
You’d better watch out!

Follow the less worn path
To your dream destination,
Follow in the footsteps of
those who inspire you
who you want to be
where you want to be,
Copy what they did
Until you can blaze your own trail
In your own way
And achieve success
On your terms

You can ask
For something
Easily
Directly
Unconditionally
With no attachment to the answer
No control
On how they respond
As that is their prerogative
And choice

No more feelings of
Guilt
Shame
Unworthiness
Who am I to ask for help
Just a straightforward request
And a straightforward answer
Yes
Or
No

If what you focus on
You attract,
Knowing
Your desire is
The path of success,
Then why do you
Gaze upon others’ mistakes
In the mistaken belief
That you’ll avoid them
When all it will do
Is lead to the
Repetition of?

Instead
Focus on
The Joy
The Abundance
The Success
That you so desire
To start
Attracting more of this
Into your life.
Learn your own lessons
On your journey
Rather than repeat the
Mistakes of others

And do you not see
Your true desire is not indeed to focus on mistakes
But instead
To be free
