I am looking at the absence of you
Unpronounced recollection of sounds

You appear to be gone
But I am looking right at you
Found this poem in my old notebook

I didn't want you,
I wanted love
and I have realised
that they are not the same thing.

You were a mould
that I poured my insecurities in,
a computer I tried to program.

But you are a sky,
stormy and clear and rainy and warm.

You were so blue when I longed for red.

I didn't want you.
I wanted the thought.

Why is it
That just as my skin begins
To feel the coddling warmth
Of the emerging spring sunshine
That I long for rain?

We danced in the heat of the summer,
We sang along in the glistening silence,
We walked in the roads of lilacs,
We caught fireflies in the starlight,
We reached past our limits,
We acted like every day was our last
And what I wish wasn't our ending.

Haven

Erian Rose
In the darkest days and brightest nights,
You're there for me when no one is.
Your smile a cure for every ache.
As the war continues,
You're the safe haven I turn to.
Quiet down my dear heart
And let your silence call him into your chambers
Oh the chase

My poems rhyme
They certainly do
From beginning to end
You will hear them connect
I don’t know what gives me the knack
For the ending to seemingly stop.
Perfectly in unison they fit
Like a tiger in the jungle
If I had a chance
I would rhyme all day
And laugh
