.
Mighty palette
in the sky.
Feast of pastel colours
of sundown.

Nestbound birds
sang up a cry.
Alone I sat,
grass-crested mound.

Inhale a breath,
exhale a sigh...
Pocket of bliss,
peace on earthly ground.

.
Listen to the drums
I want to die,
Every year
In time.

Every year, I will be a little less
Here.
You are
A star is born,
You are just

Nothing at all -

There's a sizzling giant that skips through the sky
While she nods at the people below
Now, a nod and a wink would be kinder, you'd think
But a nod is as far as she'll go

As she prances and bounds over sun-smothered grounds
She's the cause of a squall and a bluster
But no smile for the sodden, most recently trodden
A nod is the best she can muster

No weapon she fears, not the muskets or spears
Nor the arrow set loose by the archer
She dances her dance, an unyielding advance
Then a nod and a lazy departure
thoughts play hide and seek with conclusions in my mind
it's being sleepless
pillow wet with little drops falling off my eyes
it's being sleepless
a silence so that my sister doesn't wake up but screaming inside
it's being sleepless

In the kinder glow
our eyes meet
flashing like a castle
lost in the snow

The sky illuminating in blazing blues
and solemn reds
but even in the dark of night
a light is shed

In the dawn of morning
kingdoms will grow
blooming, blooming
from the castle below
When my masks are tired
They wear me.
These faces can only be worn for so long before
Even they grow self conscious
Of what the world thinks.
My masks wear me because they know I care about nothing
Which allows them solitude from judgment.
Solitude from the human ego.
Once they have recovered
Our roles will once again switch
And I can feel familiar within
                    “Society”
                           Is
                        Why
                            I
                       Wear
                      These
                      Masks
