when my friends talk about you,
my heart stops,
and no words come out.

but when i am with you,
my heart thumps,
and my actions & words get loud.

We've met before,
Unexpectedly in dreams
Where reality was vividly present
But many days have gone by
Since our last encounter.
Can we meet again?
Set the day and time and I promise to
Arrive at the appointed time.

I didn't know what love was like until I saw your face
Its like my life is a deck of cards and you are my ace
You have the power to unravel me
And set my free
Making me do all wonderful things
That don't seem like me
You teach me a special type of love
The kind where we are free like doves
I didn't know what love was like until I saw your face
Now my dreams have come true and we are living together in our own little happy place

Pain

Can't be seen,
Can't be touched,
Can't be smelled,
But it's there

Constant & consistent,
it grows.
Powerful & persistent,
it revels.

is everywhere:
In my heart,
In my mind,
In my daily life.

takes over life,
takes over people,
demands death,
demands people.
I swear to you, officer,
I tell the truth.
I was the witness
to a most terrible crime.

You see,
there are people out there,
in the world
(you must have seen them before, sir)
who tend to despise themselves
simply for being who they are.

There isn't actually anything wrong with them
not anything you would see on X-ray scans
or a medical sheet
with little x's through boxes
and unreadable scribbles of tangible symptoms.

but their tears are tangible all the same.

The crime, sir,
is the fact that
sadly, no one sees
that figurative demons
can be as real as any disease.

If you were a mermaid                                   c. 6.8.14 J.Ray
I’d follow you down
I wouldn’t be afraid
If I had to drown

Into the dark sea
We swim all alone
Though we cannot see
Into the depths unknown

Through the waves
And through the sand
To Pirate’s graves
Let me hold your hand

Sharks around us got big teeth
Hold you close and calm the fear
The dangers in the underneath
But the water is just oh so clear

Your hair catches the suns final ray
I hate to go now but I’ll be with you soon
In my true heart I wish I could stay
I kiss you goodbye with light of the moon
I really hope you enjoy this, critique is always appreciated!
decorated, concealed
whitewashed, peeled
years of little earthquakes
will shake you

she is framed art hung, unsung
unknown to anyone
jilted, wilted
a still life flower
hanging ever crooked
upon the wall
dedicated to all who struggle with drug addiction, especially to a certain person in my life

I'm Fine.

I love others so much more than I love myself; it kind of disheartens me at how much I would give to others than I would ever to myself.
I wouldn't be able to stand it knowing that someone else is in pain or is hurting but when it comes down to me.

I'm fine.
