She wore the years
on her face,
making it plain to see
they had not been kind.
I ran into someone I hadn't seen in years, and was saddened by the way drugs, alcohol, and smoking had taken over her life. I thought, if this is what it's done to her outside appearance, what has it done inside? Very sad.
Do you ponder this life
The meaning of it all
Why we exist to suffer
I do, I always have to

The pain of going on
Dragging through day by day
Wondering does it improve
Will hope come to rescue me

But alas, here I will write
My healing, my feeling
Through the darkest, to the light
Just a poet, nothing more

My very most honest mistake

Is that

I'm really not a poet
But I do love to write
My words are pretty simple
And that exemplifies my life

I've never chased a dollar
But hard work's a faithful friend
Let no one think "he's lazy"
When the light of day's at end

Everything I've ever wanted
Live between these walls
And if I slip a little bit
I've a few good friends to call

Darkness had nothing for me
Just left me lonely, cold, and black
I learned to count my blessings
Not curse the things I lack

I believe in Christian values
But I don't always do what's right
I just do my best, repent the rest
And keep walking in the light
In lieu of a profile
I stand stapled to the ground
A statue of time and depth
Views of my past wonder by

Stained by the sadness of the world
Rust colored tears smear my eyes
Cracked fissures weaken my legs

I see no wonders around me
Sway me forward by the gust
Smashed face on the pavement

A statue of me
Broken and forgotten
Pieces scattered
Only twenty one years
Are we statues of the world environment? Do we stand lost and forgotten
Simply Wanting

Our need was evident
Simply wanting
a shared dream
lost in passions paradox
between the crevices of paragon
kisses so bent around the others dreamy night
lure of diamond light insight with the other
in a tortured love song our need
simply wanting the love of you..

A moment in time when you stop and think
You try and tell yourself that all is fine
One foot in front of the other
Getting to where you should be.

But the moment reminds you
How far away those goals all are
You’re struggling up hill
Carrying this heavy load.

You look around you to see who is there
Your there for those who need you, but no one’s in sight
Your struck by loneliness wondering which way to go
You know you just can’t give up this fight.

The journey we take, may not be fair
It will trip us, delay us and take us on detours
Take the moment in time when you stop and think
To realise that your nearly there.
