Hear the forests cry.
The leaves who tell their own rhymes.
Only to forget.
A Haiku is:
Be three lines of five syllables, seven syllables, and five syllables.
Contain a nature or seasonal reference.
Be in the present tense (swims rather than swam).
Be subtle and observational.
Contain some sort of twist in the third line.
Not worry about rhyming.

and wounds fade it doesn't mean I

Someone asked me to draw
Draw what heartbreak looks like
I finally got tired of drawing a broken heart
And I started drawing you

Exceedingly underwhelmed,
I found myself in awe
of my own vacant stupidity.
Oh, how we often
fail to grow wiser,
and instead lose
our clear vision
with time,
the way the rain blurs
the window
yet cleans the air.

There are quiet moments
in the cracks of my life -
driving to work, waiting in line,
floating on skates around a frozen lake,
daydreaming about nothing in particular.

To live in these moments forever,
with my body and mind
so at ease that nothing
much bothers them.
So quiet I’d remain forever,
listlessly dawdling my time away.

She never moved
She never lived
She never existed.

She could have had the world.
