You used to be the golden sun and lingering kisses.
But now you're the reason thorns grow around my heart
and the reason my poetry is filled with metaphors for heartbreak.

Maybe I don't understand
the Laws of Physics or
Stellar evolution,
but I know that
your atoms are composed of stardust
Maybe this is why the life in your eyes
is illuminating everything like a carbon giant.

In astronomy they told us
that the darkest parts of space
often contain the most energy
And I thought you should know,
that just like the ancient galaxies inside of you,
your darkest parts still shine.

Goodbye to heartless
words. The ones that
tell you you’re not good
enough; the ones that
tell you you’ll never
make it.

Goodbye to ******
people. The ones that
leave you alone in the
dark; the ones that aren’t
there for you, but you’re
there for them.

Goodbye to labels and
judgement. The ones that
discriminate and bully; the
words you fear to hear as
you walk down the halls
of the place you’re supposed
to feel comfort.

Goodbye to all your demons.
The ones that keep you up at
night; the ones that you keep
hidden.

And lastly, goodbye to you.
The one I love the most;
the one I can’t give up.

I didnt lose anything the day that you kissed my red lips,
told me that you liked them swollen this color instead of painted it.
I didn’t lose anything when you kissed down my neck and across my collar bone and all the way down into my soul.
I don’t think I lost anything the day we kicked off our socks and shoes and shimmied out of our jeans
When we crawled under the covers and into each others hearts,
whispering words that I can still feel againt my skin long after your touch has faded.
Christmas lights casting shadows that I chased across your jaw
Legs tangled and fingers twined,
we were more laughter and love
patience and passion
imperfection and beauty than I had ever felt in myself alone.
I don’t think I lost anything;
some part of myself that my mother was always telling me to protect.
*I think I may have even grown.
Why do people say "losing" your virginity??  You aren't losing a part of yourself, you aren't giving it away. So please stop telling me that this is something bad, something I should wait for; safe & consensual *** is a GOOD THING

Comb every strand of hair,
Clean every part of your body
And look at them
Appreciate them.

2.
Dress up.
**** society's expectation
Wear your FAVOURITE colour
Wear your mood.

3.
Always prepare for rainy days.
Bring an umbrella,
Bring your sweater
Bring some money,
For warm coffee/tea.

4.
Go out and explore.
Visit cafés and treat yourself,
Visit book shops & libraries
Inhale the aroma of freshly brewed coffe,
The nostalgic smell of old, yellow papers.

5.
Be okay with what you do,
Say things that are on your mind.
Who cares about what people think?
You are who you are
And you're perfect.

6.
Even if you can't love yourself
Always remember that there's a greater God,
whose love is boundless.
Hey, even the birds in the sky,
The flowers on the ground
Fishes in the sea
Have been taken care of by "him"
What else you a human being!
I wish NYC had more stars so I could compare them to how dim they are to your eyes.
Plus stargazing is cool.
