Dear Nest made by golden strings,
Remarkable Guardian, dazzling Thunder,
I don’t want you to watch me burn.
but, I do know, that one way or another...
It will be in your arms that I will overturn.

Glide through those adorable winds.
Embellish that Sky with your finest colour.
She wafts well your powerful wings,
With real echoes as a celestial lover.

Dear immortal and treasured Valentine,
Irreplaceable you were and always will be.
Blissful new edges frost our noble Storyline,
Royal Blessings to you, New Melody.

babe
i thought it was me
the girl in your dreams
--through your lonely sleep
the one you held so close to your chest
i thought it was me
--you're feeling for

behind all my thoughts was all your thoughts about her
Paul Simon wrote of sitting at a railway station,
With a ticket for his destination,
A cool autumn morn, and I’m doing the same,
Penning my thoughts, while awaiting my train.

A nice warm coffee cupped in my hand,
My trusty pen, the poet’s wand,
More travellers arrive, their tickets purchase,
While I just sit, composing verses.

My I-Pod blasts out Thin Lizzy live,
The music helps my poem thrive,
People staring, I'm deep in thought,
Me thinks this poem won’t be short.

The train arrives, of course its late,
So much to do, I cannot wait,
We pass through villages, towns and fields,
The lonely scarecrow, no secrets he yields.

The stunning views sure do amaze,
As we journey on through drizzly haze,
The farmer’s fields and their misty shroud,
As I travel further from maddening crowd.

Through the cloud comes a shaft of light,
Then forms a rainbow, bold and bright,
You see the world with a different view,
Or perhaps not, as we pass through Crewe.

Great, sods law, one working loo,
And yes of course, there’s quite a queue,
I-Pod still belting out the tunes,
As along the track, the train it zooms.

Ahh, now my destination is in sight,
Now a cracking day and drunken night,
A time to catch up with good friends,
And where both Journey, and poem ends.*

A poem penned on the spot that Paul Simon allegedly wrote "Homeward Bound", while waiting for a train myself.  Did the ghosts of the past inspire my words?

oh
how
beautiful we are
when
we
let the spirit
catch the wind
but
let it
shape our hearts again
Treat me like a rabid hound
Take that gun and shoot me down
Better yet just hand me a knife
And I'll cut myself right out of this life
I'm tired and I've been ground down
There's hardly any of me to be found
What's the use to fight this fight
It's only dark there is no light
If only Someone would take my hand
That feeling would be oh so grand
But any one that's tried
Can't stand the tears I cried
I just want Someone that can understand
**** it I want a real man
That can see past the agony and scars
That makes me look so marred
Even tho my heart is broken
The pieces of it still are golden

Sometimes I feel
that what I have
so closely
right next to me
is so very far
there is distance
that cannot even be
named
while inside me,
a wildness
that cannot be
tamed
and I long to
break free
travel to far-off lands
get closer to
myself
as I take the spirit-reigns
into my own hands
And all the while
as I wait
trying to find that
perfect moment
for escape
I gather the warmth
and light around me
wrap it around as one,
close energetic blanket
let it charge me up
refill the spots
that have become
empty
rejuvenate that
private inner sanctum
that so few can see,
those who know
and understand
the irony
for on the circular map
marked in cities, towns
and roads
are the ones physically far
who hold me so very close
the ones who know my mind
the workings of my heart
who help gather me into wholeness
when the seams threaten
to rip apart
They know
the meanings of the ways
that this heart spills into verse
and I see how physical proximity
can be a blessing, or a curse
because when it's an illusion
it cuts right to the core
stirring up pure loneliness
bringing longing to the fore
a heightening of confusion
when the door slams in your face
and you wonder why, in your home
you can feel so out of place
And so I bless this map
mark with pins my states of love
countries and landscapes of kindness
felt through the airwaves above
and with my own love in return
I immerse all the beautiful souls
We all share the struggles and victories
provide calm
when it's out of control

I cast forth my heart to you
Let it crackle through the wires
its electricity connects
and like magic,
sweet
love
          transpires
