I spent last night
Crunching numbers

10
Times you led me on

9
Nights we stayed up talking

8
Weeks since you decided I wasn’t worth it

7
Crushed up poems on the floor of my room

6
Outfits thrown aside to make sure I look my best

5
Days I spent trying to get over you

4
Friends that know what we did

3
3 a.m FaceTime calls

2
Coats of mascara

1
Big regret

Ev’ry body should
Feel a little bit worthless
Perhaps failure would
Then hurt just a little less

believe me when i say
that these scars
are not a reminder of you
believe me, these scars
are a reminder
of how deep my love can be
these scars are not about you

Someday you’ll love you.
From the sparkle in your eye,
To the pitch of your laugh,
Even the color of your hair.

You will love every part,
From every wrinkle,
To every crinkle,
Every part of you.

But they will try to tear you down,
To make you frown,
To make you think you’re not worth it.

But darling you listen to me.

From the way you walk,
To the way you talk,
You will be mocked,
But don’t you listen.

From your weight,
To your height,
You are all wonderful to me.

Maybe one day you’ll see,
The beauty I see.
The way you were made,
So beautifully.

But until then,
Do not forget,
On how true beauty,
Comes from within.
I hope one day that you love you the way you deserve. You are worth it ❤

You're poking at my wounds
Causing them to bleed
Leaving bruises upon my skin
All due to your greed

Bending me till I break
Revealing my true sin
Tear away at my mask
You're standing there with a grin

Watching me as I cry
Laughing as I beg
I'm screaming out so many pleas
But your preoccupied by a keg

Crumbling to the ground
I'm in a desperate need of an escape
I still love you with all my heart
But how much more of this can I take?

You say you love me so desperately
The moment I turn to leave
But as soon as I am within your arms
You somehow cause me to grieve

I'm trapped within a loop
Of love, hatred and abuse
Wanting to leave but then to stay
Maybe I'm just tying my own noose

You act all high and mighty
But really you're being immature
I know in truth you have cheated
But you always make me feel unsure

I refused to be lied to
It kills me inside
Yet here you stand
So ideally by

Abuse me, Use me
Beat me till I'm blue
As long as in the end
I can be of some use to you

So here I am willingly
Standing before you
Except this time I'm sure
That you will be the one to lose

Damgo

Gipukaw ko
sa akong damgo
Morag langgam nga ilo
sa salag nga gigubâ sa bagyo.
Ning-syagit ko
ug ngalan nimo

Ning-abut na ka abi nakò
Dinhi sa tapad ko
Akong gitan-aw,
wa may tawo
Ang habol pilô gihapon,
bugnaw maski gaksun nakò

Uli na langga,
mingaw na kaayo.

PANAGINIP (Tagalog translation)

Nagulantang ako
ng aking panaginip
Parang isang ibong ulila
sa pugad na sinira ng bagyo
Isinigaw ko
ang pangalan mo

Dumating ka na akala ko
Dito sa tabi ko
Tiningnan ko,
wala namang tao
Ang kumot tiklop pa rin,
malamig kahit yakapin ko

Uwi ka na mahal,
Sobrang lungkot na dito.

DREAM (English translation)

In a flash, awakened
by a dream, saddened
like a bird orphaned
in a nest the storm had downed
Your name
I called out loud

you have returned, I thought
here by my side, I sought
to feel and I looked, at once
but there was naught
the blanket still neatly folded
and, even as I hugged it, cold as dead

Come home now my dear
It’s become so lonely here.
My first attempt to write a poem in Cebuano, one of the major native languages in the Philippines; as a native Tagalog speaker, this is one big leap.
