Behind all his smiles and silly gestures
He longs to walk a thousand miles away
He desires to escape from everyday
No more small talk
Or large gatherings
The curtain has CLOSED
A contemporary task.

In the eyes of the crowd
All they see is the proud facade
Entertainment is important
And all they care about
Forgetting the person
behind the PERSONA
a temporary mask.

As his mask fades
Rabbits shift
into sparrows
No light at the end
Only cued applauds
Some flowers
And skewed imagery
An exemplary stage.

Disappearing into the night
Unmasking the illusions he conjured.
The sinking reality comes back
As
Lingering
Silence echoes his longing…
A price to pay of the famed gift
Hoping this will be his last...

teenage angst

pour the bottle
pop the pill
find the vein
"cure" your ill
light the pipe
tip the glass
it don't matter
race or class

it may appear
to help you some
but in the end
the devil's won
it don't matter
your job or skills
the smoke's a prison

the bottle KILLS**

if you have a problem
with drugs or alcohol
or both
the first thing you MUST do
is admit it to yourself

I beat the odds
i'm clean and sober
and while i had
a temporary lapse
a few months ago
i bounced back and
i don't even have cravings

THANKS!
"Always become the one being hurt
Rather than ever hurting another"
Words I have strived to live by
The philosophy left by my mother

I've always tried to live my life
Standing up for what is right
Helping others no matter the cost
Being everyone's shining knight

What a horrible way to live

Even when I was on the verge of breaking
Even when the burden seemed too large
I always took it onto myself
And it was always free of charge

They all need to pay

But lately there is this voice
Echoing from the back of my mind
That is always fighting to take over
It wants to punish the unkind

Maybe I don't want to forgive

Tell me who is that inside me
Those thoughts can't be my own
Even when there's no one around
Somehow I am not alone

Just let me come out and play

I'm trying to keep it at bay
Am I past the point of no return?
I JUST WANT THE VOICE TO GO AWAY
But.... *Now....it's my turn
I tried so hard to get this done before December was over :/
There goes the whole "post at least a poem a month for a whole year...."
Oh well.
ANYWAYS....this took a much darker/creepyer...twist than I originally intended....So....oops. sorry about that. I hope you all enjoy it though!!!!
This poem was inspired by the show Tokyo Ghoul....just...for the record. Anyways. Hope y'all like it.
Don't hold back your feelings.
Don't hide your pain and tears.
I told you I want all of you,
And your lies are not you my dear.

Everyone has fears,
And you don't need to face them alone.
We can do this together,
If you just tell me what is wrong.

You're my source of comfort.
I want to be the same.
I want to show you real love,
Maybe you can feel okay again.

If I wrap my arms around you,
Would you want them there?
Would you break away the passion,
Or ignite our eternal flame right here?
Take mastery over thoughts
though benevolently sway
hold dominion over words
but have care for what you say
take hold of all the dreams
and chances you must take
calmly sense all paths
then bend but never break

Someone asked me
About how old I am today

He proceeded to tell me
That next year I'll be a year older

I supressed the tears
And gave a pretentious laugh

I couldn't imagine next year
Being alive for another year
One
I take the long way
along the way
to find my home
I pass the old place
where I used to play
once upon a yesterday
I walk down the sidewalks
avoiding all cracks
Oh ! my mother's back
It's a long way from yesterday
to everyday
and back down to here
And one is the number
between zero
which is nothing
and eternity
which is everything
