There is practically no distance that can cure this feeling i had for you.
Not even the miles, lands or galaxies,
not even the reality.

light of a fire, staring in the bright eyes of a tiger as you wear your golden heart on your sleeve & try to fight off watery disaster but it'll come in the form of orange rose petals and bright blue lights and ink from your dangerous veins will seep through the pale of your jeans even on the days that the sun never seems to set as you sit atop a dusty mountain that shares your middle name so you climb back down with a look on your face that could only be one of either light determination or distant satisfaction, like the difference between citrus lime and citrus lemon in a coffee cup enough for 2 morning breakfasts and a sky full of shiny stars that you gracefully painted over with red chalk because you were on an adventure

she wasn't a muse
she was the heart and soul of poetry
written long before man or time
before language or song
waiting for a page
and a heart
she could lay down and spread herself out
in ink and blood
and write herself down
in a fairy tale of imperfect and impossible love
and bind herself to the spine of truth and between the dust jacket protecting the book cover of eternity
and be read by the heart she would know was her forever home

You had left me reeling
under the bluebells,
like a trembling leaf, like wheels
in human conflict.

Trying to learn the democracy
of honeybees, like the
cohesiveness of fireants,

Handcuffed, staying in
solitary confinement, hitting at
the walls. Chipping away
the ungrateful.

The triage will leave me
unattended. The road...
do you think, it will be visible?

The stars will listen,
night will not.

It was not the worth
of a cloud,
your garden, sitting
on the lake.

Refresh drops, in the
dry eyes of the rope, which was
wounding around your neck
like a snake.

You want to become
a blue god now, on
opioids. A living ruin, attracting
the tourists.

The terrible change,
we are dragging our dead body
under the shadow of
the toes.

I’m filled with lightning.
It shines bright, flowing through my wrists.
It cracks through with everything I do.
My smile, my laugh.
The way I walk and talk.
It’s electrifying.

I've realized a lot of my poems are filled with self hatred, so I wanted to make this one. A small poem about self love and realizing your worth. I'm filled with light even if I can't see it often.

A country that the world left behind
when rubber could be made by man.
The country that slaves found home.

I love this country
that I haven't set
foot on it's soil
yet.

I want to walk it's
dusty trails into
rainforests and
hidden tribes.

I want to sing with
all the vagabonds
ragamuffins &
castaways.

It's a country unknown
a frontier to discover.
A place to call home
maybe...
