I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Now read from bottom to top.

Anxieties

I think you told a lie today
about the shadow on your mind.
I think you plan to die today,
and leave these follies far behind.

I wish you would write me a song,
and ink the truth within its verse.
Happy or sad, it's fine, so long
as this does not end in a hearse.

Lost

Days go by
I am stuck,
I am stuck in the dark
There is not a soul in sight

Not a day goes by
where I'm not
waiting for a light to
guide me
which direction to go in
and how to get there

I ask for you,
myself
to be that light

Last First Lover

Gave everything you had
To a love you thought would last.

You wanted to be there
By their side till the end of time.

Favors they asked of you
Stretched you thin like paper.

Your calls and messages
Were left on read, unanswered.

You waited for them
As the sun rose and fell asleep.

When you walked away
They decided to plea and beg.

You decided this was it
This will be your last first lover.

You said goodbye
To the person that made you suffer.

ring, ring, connecting, connected,
facetime, primetime, your time is my time
and we all sing in tune sometimes.

I went to some time one time,
but got there late
sometimes I do that if the traffic's heavy.

I am
drowning in reflections,
it's raining multiple dimensions here,

and
your call is being transferred to
an unintended consequence
generator.

Beautiful

You're a beautiful creation.
But what did they do to you?
Now you're a beautiful disaster.
What can I do?

Someone will love you but that someone's not me.
I'd rather be alone now than fall to my knees
And beg you to see, that this is real and this is me
But you cant see it so I'd rather be free.
And learn to love myself more than you could ever love me.

You're a beautiful creation.
But what did they do to you.
Now you're a beautiful disaster.
There's nothing I can do.
Sorry this is long

Raspberries

Like the juice of June’s strawberries,

Your words gush through my soul
Breaking down all cells of rationale

but there is no sweet syrup
That can diminish the bitter taste
     of humility
& embarrassment
from these shaking lips

You make an old soul
feel like a silly young boy
picking raspberries alone....
