In a world full of hatred,
In a land so far and lost,
How can I withstand,
And what will it cost?

A fire set brightly ablaze.
Flames; I'll feel them all.
Walking through the haze.
Shame; I'm about to fall.

-
crack another thermometer open
on the broken bathroom sink,
pour yourself into me like mercury
and pan the bed of my stomach
for multitudes of gold flecks
like however many myriads
of sickly pill bottles in your
dresser drawer of socks.
-
see all
the shredded speckled petals
i ripped up before i'd let
the deer get to them;
i'm colorblind,
and i can't tell
the sun's reflection from plastic,
or tulips from the broken
pottery outside my front door.
-
and far least from another beer,
and another fifth of whatever
could be fit under your shirt
-
and never a chair pulled up to speak,
from standing like a soapbox
more suited to cleaning
than to preaching.
-
pour yourself into me like mercury,
because it's so much easier
when my veins weigh me down
to distraction, than being able
to think of hydrangeas again.
-
Twisted, demented;
Sacred but rotten.
Sitting in the corners;
Memories forgotten.

Holes in the walls
Are filled with eyes.
They watch you walk;
They see your cries.

Twisted laughter echoes far;
Bloodied knives upon the bar.
Take your steps on creaking floorboards-
Tallies kept on the scoreboard.

Of those who came,
But never left.
Screams of pain;
No one's exempt.

There is no power;
The lights still flicker.
An empty chair rocks,
It's made of wicker.

You feel a touch,
But no one's there.
You think too much;
You shouldn't dare.

Take your steps,
And take them slow.
You'll feel regret,
Before the final blow.

Blood runs down the windowsills
From all the souls this house has killed.
Trails of scratches tattoo the walls,
Of those before who resisted and clawed.

They tried so hard to escape,
But in the end, they sealed their fate
For once you enter, it is the end-
In this horror shop, forever you'll spend.

You say you came back for me,
Yet here I am completely alone.
The day you came back to me,
It almost felt like I was at home.

I don't even know what to think -
Your silence has alarms sounding.
So I guess I'll have another drink -
I can't swim and I am drowning.

To you, I'm just not important;
You put everything above me.
I grab for something imported;
My whiskey always loves me.

So another line I start pouring,
As my feelings are faded -
It's six fifty five in the morning,
And I am ******* wasted.

-Corbin
Last line finished at 6:55A.M. with 8 or 9 shots of four roses double barrel whiskey in me. Cheers.

I went out to find
Some value in me,
So I sold what I had
For little a fee.

My eyes for a penny
I sold to some fools,
They're blind and useless,
Mistook for jewels.

My lips for a nickel
To the sweetest sin,
So they'll know the love
That has never been.

My ears for a dime
I sold to a lover.
To hear sweet nothings,
And silence uncover.

My hands for a quarter
I sold to a ghost,
So that she might feel
What I've wanted the most.

Finally my bones for a dollar
I sold to the earth,
But as for my soul-
There was found no worth.

Loving you
A poison I would drink with pleasure
Any day of the week

I write not for my arts sake...
I write for my hearts ache...

I write not to remind myself...
I write to re-mind myself...
I perform my own exorcisms through my keyboard

August
He gave me dead flowers
So I can smell them every day
The rotten petals falling
The color of decay

The washed out sunflower
The dehydrated leaves
The mold on the water
The color of debris

The richly red rose
Now drooping to the floor
The color of love
Existed no more

But still I saved the flowers
And smelled them every day
And watered them with tears
To let them grow again.

She told me she had
forgotten my name
in someone else's lips.
