Yes! I know you forgot
All that we shared,
The freezing rain
The scalding sun
The unsaid vows
But that was ordained
It was supposed to happen
Sooner or later

Our Inborn Passion
Dee Sep 2014
Lips touched
passion sought
standing still listening
to our hearts, wanting so much
the others lives, so we will ever fall
drinking our fill of our dearest hearts
and then we must part, the pain we feel.....

That moment our lips wrote poetry
on the canvas of our hearts
from our eyes to kisses,
are a must, wanting
our passion
to the
fullest...
____

*The work of art that we created
Was not an outline,
On the roof of the heart’s cathedral
It was a breathtaking fresco
Painted centuries ago
By Michelangelo.

If ever you feel sad and lonely
Just reach up and let
Your fingers roam free,
You’ll trace the contours
Of your and my mind
Kept alive by that
Pulsating heart…

The Moth
Dee Nov 2014
A moth with purple luminous sheen-ed wings
Fell in love with a flame, enraptured by her blush
Wished to wrap itself around her limbs
Gently caress her, such was his crush,

It ventured forth
Dying to explore her contours
Touch her ethereal glow
Aware that his serenading hum
Seduced by her fire, hitherto unsung
The blue mesmerizing core
That he could never explore
The sanctum sanctorum…

The wings now charred and singed
He writhes in pain yet ecstatic
He would rather be a ‘had been’
Than having lived a life, unseen…

Call me whatever you wish
As I creep in stealthily
Leave you sighing
Endlessly

Am I necessary?...Most certainly
Leave your soul restless
As you wonder
Ponderously

A coma, in the sentence of life
Reflect on events of past
Take a deep breath
Gradually

I could leave you much wizened
Introspect in me sanguinely
I am your very own

Unable to perceive right from wrong
Oh! How long…Oh! How long
When today’s today shall be relegated to the past
These precious moments would be forever lost,

Yesterday…
Heavens came my way
But tides kept me astray
Alas! Such was their power
A deluge, not a trickle or a shower,

How I now wish
The clock had stood still
I could’ve clasped those precious moments
Before my life just withered & ebbed away,

Now as I stand far from myself
Look back and say
Where was I?
Where was my soul?

That beautiful, blessed day
When Heavens came my way*.

It died today
Dee Sep 2014
I sit by the window waiting…
The sun breaking through…
Hoping to exile night’s perfidy
With sharp stiletto’ed, piercing
Razored orange rays…

But why does the sun wear a grey shroud?
Blighted, saddened…
As it looks down upon my
Forlorn soul behind the lonely window

The nightingale that sang its melody
Yesterday, with gay abandon…
The little shrub in my patch
Pining in loneliness all alone,
Had given cause to the little bird
Offering a crimson flower each dawn
For it to celebrate love
Dance, rejoice life, sing its beautiful song

Lies withered, the bloom gone
Who broke whose heart…and why?

The Humming bird
Dee Sep 2014
Every morning in my garden I see
A fluttering gentle little soprano
Humming the song of her life
Hovering around seductive colours
Tasting, sipping nature’s recipe
Fluttering wings, ****** heart beat
Waltzing in midair to a melody so sweet
Happy to be alive, genuflecting for gifts of life

Every morning in my garden I pray
I wish what she wished was a reality
Not an illusion, a self delusional creation
Her happiness momentary, squashed in infancy
Hawks, raptors, eagles await in anticipation
With scythes in their hands…
Sharpening them, vying with each other
Whose morsel shall she be
I wish what she wished was a reality

For her will there be a tomorrow …?

And Debbie Brooks

Born from revelry thus fair and smooth
My eyes rested on him
A ‘true gentleman’ writ large on his face
My gaze longingly upon his spirit
With the nicest smile,
and a laughter of distinction and grace

I ponder…my dreams of him night and day
My muse in love with him, every which way
With welling tide of emotions without end
While white frothy waves cover my mind
As I walk through the garden of his life…
Under each leaf, looking for him, hoping to find

If only I could turn back the hands of time
The day I was seizing the world
A wonderland that so dear I hold
Close and cherished by my heart
I would give up my now
For that precious second start…

That enigmatic moment that I laid
My eyes upon you
I knew my darkness may someday shine
The revelry had perchance thrown up
A pearl wrapped up in immortalized time

Etched and elusive seconds
Turned to minutes, hours and years…
Today…

Your dreams are a symphony’s crescendo
I, the elusive maestro, you the virtuoso
The era that you worship, is a bygone eternity
Tidal oceans, the lost sea of tranquillity
The spirit you seek, is missed love’s divinity

If you could turn back the time, would
your eyes be at peace, the muse still love him
The thoughts you often porpoises through
The gardens are your loved wonderland
Would your heart stretch out
to hold today’s wrinkled hand?

My colors fade into the night
as my dreams of you unfold,
with hues of passion, a red so bright
paint a beautiful world for me

Painting into all shades of passion
The work of art that your face bestows
On a canvass that has been left blank
Awaiting your arrival, by happen-stance?

There is a moment when I look at you
and I am left speechless
my tongue breaks, then fire races under my skin
I tremble…grow pale,
for I am dying of such love, or so it seems to me

As you tremble in silence, I look at embers in your eyes
Sparkling with a love so divine
Does your tongue need to form words?
When your fire singes my soul, lighting it

Silently you take me in your arms
our lips meet and our eyes close
I feel the shuddering of your breath
and the throbbing of your heart against mine….
we know nothing but the thunder of our veins….
tidal waves sweep us out into a sea of infinite oblivion

Sailing over the tidal waves as we move along
With each stroke of the oar
I ride each trough and crest writing a new song
A part of you and a part of me
Consigned forever…to the annals of history
Are we reaching the shores of heaven
Blissful, unmindful of past or present…

A dream

Restless sleep last night

I tossed left and right

Across the everglades and leas

I saw you running towards me.

Out of breath, you came & clasped my hand

My heart pounding, I could barely understand,

The distress, pain, aches reflected in your eye

Not a word spoken, yet all said by your sigh.

I saw a teardrop rolling down your cheek

Adios my darling, hitherto we shall never meet

‘The dawn arrives’, is what you said silently

Why can’t you linger awhile? I beseeched fervently.

Confused paralyzed, I let you go

And you were lost, gone – ergo

As I sat on the broken bench to catch my breath

I wondered was I, in holding on out of depth?

Alas…I pray

Would you come back into my dream again tonight?

Not to leave, but to stay on even after daylight?

Not to cause agony & pain

But to stay, forever remain.

____

My love, I saw you in your dream
I traveled oh so far, waiting for an invitation
To be part of you once again
Your mind entwined with mine
Drove my heart to yours
And dreamed me so many times

Your dreams become my restless sleep
Tossing and turning with touches of your lips
That keeps me flooding with touches and love
That’s when I was running to you
You saw my teardrop, with touch of desperation

My heart pounding not understanding
The need I had for you,
Whispering we should ever meet,
Please do not let me go,
Your dreams are my dreams
Even in the daylight

I can taste your love like rain on my tongue
You teased my dream with droplets of you
With so many wild pleasures that lay in store
As our happiness dazzled before our eyes
Our dreams made one, that last time …

So golden like with rays of golden mist
As a pair of loving birds seem entwined
With visions of beauty adorning eyelashes
He is the only one I see …

With eyes lock in the flame
I transform, morph in his love
With every moment that runs by,
My face blushing hotter as he stares …

His making love to me with his eyes
As I melt into his being, I exhale a heaving sigh…
As he touches my face and travels low
With the lowest of whispers, I murmur now please …

With a rush of electric ripples running through
From head to toe, as he peers deeper in my soul,
There is gentleness as he brushes my face with his,
As his passionate kiss, flows through my release …

*With you standing so close to me
Aromas of your presence wafting with the breeze
Is it possible for a mere human like I
To restrain, pause and wonder why

Even Gods, in your presence
Would forego their piety and prescience
Your love, I catch with the tip of my tongue
That escapes your parted lips with a deep sigh

My eyes firing a staccato of cupid’s arrows
You standing in all your bare glory
The first touch is heaven’s ecstasy
The second, a desire for symmetry

As in fantasized temple’s libations
We climb mountainous manifestations
In a dancing and pirouetting flamenco
Reaching a rhythmic crescendo…

Missing the Most
Dee Oct 2014
Your words pulverized me again and again
I saw each little arrow
that lead me in circles
back to your doorstep,
wanting to reach out, touch you
but was afraid you weren't there,

Did you understand the love we shared
Deeper than the depth of the Pacific,
but the schism of the abyss deepened,
like a cracking Mariana, imploding unto itself,
as I play each scene through my mind
what did I do to make you turn away
I wonder…
it was hard to say
good bye…,

My angel, it has been long, since I saw you
yet whatever little moments that we spent
were blessed pearls in shining oysters,
worn around our hearts
I aver it still hurts to know
you are still there somewhere
How I miss…
the endless, senseless talks
wishing for more of those precious moments,
but life, does it value treasured seconds?
I wonder…
then why is it that
I miss the most…us?

I hope to awaken when the sun comes up
and rubbing my eye, I see the dream crash
see you standing before me
as if you had never left my side.*

The parallel worlds.
My princess, just peep out of the castle window
Do you see that glorious steed?
A knight atop, in his shining armour
Perhaps not…
Since with changed time’s dimensions
I stand on the tor while your castle is in the vale,

Each looking at the other as a mist
Yet still there, where we were…
Nothing has changed, yet there is no constant
The eye of the storm has changed the breeze
The sailboats changing tack, yet on the same course
All a matter of perception…

Look out of your dream and you shall find
Us, standing on the same shore that we last left,
The travels and travails seem to keep us adrift
Bobbing up and down, times tides
Synchronous, dancing to the beat of the waves…

The flood
Dee Nov 2014
She came…sat down so gingerly
We exchanged glances furtively
Said it all, understood it all
Utter silence, ecstatic agony.

She sat with lips trembling unable to speak
My heart sputtering, missing a beat
Ah! Those precious moments
When hours seemed like seconds.

Today
Memories blur & all that remains is etchings on a grey slate
Realities whisked away by the greatest slayer of all – cruel fate
I try to call out your name but can’t shout
I am left wondering what it was all about.

…The deafening silence is overpowering

Did it all happen? I am not too sure
If it did, it was love in divinity so pure
But whenever I look at the barricade of the grey slate
Memories come flooding in through the sluice gate.
Did it ever happen to you that a moment, opens floodgates of memories?

The wrecked boats
Dee Sep 2014
As we sat at the bus station
Looking at the incessant rain
How the raindrops hung precariously
On the wires of the electric poles
The droplets close to each other
As they slid closer, they became one
Turned into a drip and splashed on to the ground.

Seeing a rivulet forming, she made little paper boats
Set them afloat saying their destination was the sea
Her distant dream a cause of consternation for me
My fear that the tiny stream would soon turn into a torrent
Break all embankments and destroy all in a flood
Sink the hapless little boats, her dream shattered.

Concerned about the ever increasing deluge
Little realizing that along with the collapsing boats,
Helplessly, I too was being ****** in by the rush of water
Being washed away from her, adrift without oars or a rudder
My last view of her, tears running down her cheeks
Were they the tears, dreams, boats or me that were being washed away?
How I wish I could have known…before she vanished from my view*.

Divine heavenly sanguinity
blessed prehensile thoughts
of two souls sitting atop floating clouds
basking in sun’s glory.
Travelling as the drift takes us…sometimes
kissing mountain tops or dancing in the vale,
flowing along with the gurgling
stream, touching each pebble so gently
caressing each fern, each shore.
Sea the ultimate destination
merging into nothingness, yet
you and I granted immortality
unending mirth and laughter.
Heaven and earth our abode
Of two bodies and one soul.

*Our divine heavenly bodies
bless us with my red rainbow
our two souls floating in the different shades,
translucent of my colors
with sweet rain on our lips
kissing the ultimate of desire,
as we try and stay within the lines
somehow we drift, into the others  being,
with each stroke of your hand
you always bring me back to you
with each touch you transform
my blank canvas to blend with yours
as the red returns back in my soul…

You ask me where I met her…
In a dream world, I guess
It was during night’s astral stroll
That I first saw that beautiful soul...

I saw her deep in thought
Realized the truth that I forgot
The ethereal presence was a savant spirit
In body whom I had never met...

Looking at me…a look of askance
‘Would you guide my ship, be my navigator’
I waved at the nothingness…at a mirage
Said ‘sure if you were to be by my side
Murmuring your sweet guidance in my ear’.

As we lifted off on the zephyr
Saw the tors and vales far below
The moon looking…peering at us
The stars with a benevolent glow

She pointed towards the dark horizon
That’s where she wanted us to go
The kiss of an arrow shot from a bow
But then, did souls need worry
About distance and time's flurry?

Oblivious to the world’s reality,
We flew into a dreamy eternity…

The Footsteps of Time
Dee Sep 2014
In my room, the grandfather clock has been busy
Busy moving its needles around for over a century
Seconds, turning to minutes, to hours, days and years
A young clock growing old, pendulous pinions and gears.

That’s what passing time does, a chime unfixed
But truly, as I introspect, does time really exist?
Rising sun and the onset of night, an unending event
Churning of moments, past, future and the present.

Creeping on us, time is the rhythmic rhyme of history
A song sung by my clock, and its ubiquitous mystery.
A silent, unspoken, unheard, stealthy crescendo
The ever changing panorama I see outside my window.

But then what is the datum to know elapse of time?
Is it a mere yardstick of your evolution and mine?
Replacement of dying cells, a genetic work so complex
My grandfather clock, tick tocks unmindful, unchecked*.
Time

Tomorrow never comes because if it does, it is today. Today is all that we have because soon it shall be yesterday. Yesterday has already been relegated to the annals of history and is the cause of today’s déjà vu.

Where do we go from here?
Dee Sep 2014
I hope there's a place, way up in the sky
For old aviators, when they say good bye!
A place where a fella’ can get a chilled beer
‘Chug-a-lug’ for a mate, whose memory was dear
A place where no doctor or lawyer can be a threat
Just an aircrew rest room, reserved for the very best.
A quaint little bar, kinda’ dark and full of smoke
Where they sing loud, and guffaw at a good joke
The kind of place where a lady could bravely go
Feel safe amongst gentlemen she would know
There must be a place where thoughts fly like an arrow
When the sortie is over, for landing airspeed gets low.
Where the whiskey is old, great are the ***** and ***
The songs are about group combat and one versus one,
Where you'd meet all fellows who'd flown the coop before
They'd call out your name, welcoming you through the door
Who would buy you a drink should your throat be parched
And tell others, "Here comes a new lad, lookie ye! all starched!"

Then through the mist, you'd spot a grand old guy
The one missed for years, he taught you how to fly
He'd nod his old head, and grin ear to ear,
Saying, "Welcome, my son, I'm pleased that you're here
I forgive you; you botched up the last landing
But you led a life that was by far, outstanding”.
"Guys, he has come here to let his spirits fly and not groan
Skip the earthlings who lived lives like miserable clones
Politicians, lawyers, the Feds, the guys with little poise
Here, where it is ‘happy hours’ for our good ol' boys
Pass on that glass of rye, for he deserves a well earned rest
Cheers! This is ‘Heaven, my son’; this is your future nest!"
Dedicated to some fine aviator friends, somewhere upstairs, playing the harp.

Could it have been?
Dee Oct 2014
Did I hear a knock on my soul’s door?
Could be mistaken, my hearing is not good anymore
Or was it just a tired wind which stopped by to rest
Blown away by a storm and was just catching its breath.

Did I see your shimmering shadow on the floor?
Could be, since my eyes are not as good as before
And if you did come, did you call out my name so softly?
Or play the harp on my hearts strings ever so gently.

That sweet touch that brushed my face with those lips
The way, you tugged at my heart with your gentle finger tips
Linger on…

Then why is it that I hesitate, of your presence am not sure?
Is it wishful prescience, an illusion… a thought conjured?

Graced by age that’s what happens when years pile on silently
It happens to all, as time creeps upon us relentlessly?
The dawn turns to dusk and the rainbow grey
Perhaps…
Your sweet music, touch and the caress had never gone away?

Ah! My failing senses, willful delusions had my perception obscured
There couldn't have been a knock, since I had never shut the door.

Dawn
Shimmering golden droplets of morning dew
Infant day’s perambulations, sun’s journey anew
Another dawn, harbinger of life, a chick’s faltering flight
The soft gossamer gilded freshness, a mother’s pride.

Morning
Long shadows drawn, screening day’s events to come
Unintelligible gurgles, chuckles, fount of life to some
A teasing bucolic smile, a toothless grin
Paragon of perfection, hubris within.

Noon
At the feet, the shadow shrivelled and scarred
Deserted by me, from vision debarred
Frozen for now in time, a short respite
Ticking moments, sun’s traverse ever so bright.

Evening
Evanescence, the shadows have lengthened again
I’ve crossed the gullies, deserts and mountains
Left life’s rapids far behind
Gathering dusk, I feel released from the grind.

Nightfall
The onset of darkness is imminent
A grim reminder – nothing is permanent.
The shadow – my alter ego, the mystery shroud
Who stood by my side for eons, even in a crowd.

Has come to bid farewell, au revoir, adieu
A reminder – its time for us both to go
To disembark, to leave all baggage behind
Life’s purpose achieved, with grace exit
Perhaps to commence another journey anew
Discover somewhere else to coexist.

An Afterlife
The nothingness still remains unchanged, all engulfing.
A hollow emptiness, yet the sun’s journey so fulfilling

Two beautiful decades of loving penance
Realize that this anniversary is special
‘Where would you like to go for dinner, darling?’
An innocuous question left mid sentence

Leaving the choice to me, I take out the car
With her seated besides, head for Heartbreak bar
Welcome Bill…says the burly doorman
A raised eyebrow from her, ‘Oh! He is my foreman’

‘Greetings Bill…Scotch soda (Ted the barman), ‘the usual’?
‘You come here often?’ (Heart stopping perusal!!)
‘Nah he’s my darts buddy, we play during lunch break’
Caution!!.Instead of my darling wife I sense a coiled snake

A lap dancer softly sliding next to me…'Hi Bill'
My death warrant, ah! the inevitable suicide pill

Sorry gotta go, my coffin awaits*.

When as newborns Adam and Eve
In perfect equilibrium I believe
Lived a life of great harmony
In unison, the vile serpent and apple
In their conspiracy, caused the battle
And then there was company.
Adam and Eve, when betrothed
Spoke in a melodious sign language
All unspoken words sweet as treacle
Married…Adam morphed into a yokel.
Leaving, their nudist camp - forbidden
Established in the Garden of Eden.
Adam decided to wear raiment grand
Latest fashions, latest brands
Speech became dependant on the depth of his pocket
If shallow, as a daily dose, from Eve, he’d get the rocket.
If only instead, had they eaten the serpent…an unholy conspirator
Today Eve would’ve listened and Adam been the mellifluous orator.

YOU STOOD SO TALL
Dee Oct 2014
You unlocked my heart and invited me in

You whispered so slightly

That tickled my ear

'A little spark kindles a great fire within'

Once you got the blaze going

Deep in my soul

That tickled down to my toes

Delve into all my being,

This night I realized

You are my hint of sherry

My cup of loneliness

With lots of steadying breaths of regrets

My hand reached towards heaven

Waiting for the spark I will receive ...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*The spark that kindles the fire in you
Was lit by the gust of wind
That kissed your soul sighing
Igniting the embers that were dying
You failed to see or feel…
The flame of eternal love
Was what the heavens threw
Fusing your nights into mine,

As my fingers reached to grab your sadness
The knuckles and digits entwined,
The sherry, your cup of loneliness,
I took away…
Spilling each blood’s droplet of mine
I was there each dawn,
When you woke seeking a brightened morn,

You missed what that little leaf saw
Laughed over…smiled
That drop of dew glistened in my presence
In that little droplet of rain that formed the rainbow
I arched over you, protecting you so tall!!

Journey to Wisdom
Dee Sep 2014
It seems only yesterday
As a fledgling rolling in the hay
Far as I can remember
Was it last December?
Did what I was told
Follow everyone blindly
No whys and No whats?
Busy in one’s inane thoughts
Good at heart and kindly.

Then came the youth
Didn’t give a ****
Couldn’t care a hoot
You could have my ‘Royal boot’
Buzzword was denial
As if the world
And not I - was on a trial.

Middle years are hard to recall
Plodding, trudging, footfall after footfall
Keeping pace with caprices of life
Protecting hearth and kin from strife.

Today sitting in a rocking chair
Bald with little or no hair
It makes me wonder this treasure of “Wisdom”
The correct grammar of commas and full stops
The hyphens and the exclamation marks!!
Whom do I bequeath it to?

Realization dawns, gone are days of fire & brimstone
It’s best to laze in the chair, lead a life nigh sublime
Light my pipe blow rings & have a great time.

The silent thoughts remain unspoken....
Or is it that wisdom is just a token?
I seek audience and Lo! Behold
All are young and I the only old*.
A life span is too short to squabble about nonevents. Sit back and enjoy life while you can :)

On a fateful day, the ‘Establishment’ sought volunteers
Not wanting to be out done by my vying peers
My hand went up and - all said ‘three cheers’
I thought I’d soon be handsome like Richard Gere.

Thus in the lab began the genetic engineering
A needle here, a chop there and additional gearing
The docs remorselessly toiled on me
Treated me like a zombie I could see.

“Success! Success!” was their sudden shout
I looked down and could see a sprout
I said “what’s this, I am half a tree?”
They said ‘silly’ from human ******* we set you free.

Alas! Instead of ‘Richard Gere’, they left me with roots
As a tree now, I go where I please without boots.

A rose for you
Dee Sep 2014
As I drift along on the wings of a mist
I see you below awaiting the love you miss
Though rich I am not, that’s why
Diamonds for you I can’t buy.

Thus, I offer a rose just for you
Pink, yellow and red, of all hues
Any colour that you may deem fit
Shred it into petals or preserve it.

It’s your choice
I can only voice
That this is my heart I offer
Neither a treasure chest nor a coffer.

But then do remember
Henceforth each step that you take
Walking towards your goal
You walk over my petals, nay - my soul.

I only hope it is not consigned to be buried in your book
To dry, wither away and years later when you do look
You reflect upon this moment with a deep sigh
Unknown to you a little teardrop escapes your eye.

Wonder about my whereabouts and fate…
By then, to remember me it may be too late…
‘Cause on the wings of this drifting mist
By then I would have been blown far away*.
**Ohhh my Knight, I accept your rose
diamonds I don't care, your love
is all I need....with your petals
circling our passion, in the wings of
your mist as I taste your breath ...

Ohhh my darling, you are a part of me
with each and every word, as you hold my
heart with every tear drop that falls
I will never forget your romantic heart ...

A cloudless vision comes into our reality
with loving eyes that adore me as you run
your hands through my hair, a sweet caress
moves me to lay by your side ...

Your so real everything my imagination
can hold, as I hold you near me, without
any doubt I will see you one more time,
and when I do, love will come again ....**

Through the doorway of time

Comes through with strife

I was starting to lose myself

In the moment of my mind

It was gone in an instant

I must have been imagining

The glow of your love

And then I stepped into nothingness

When knocked down to my knees

I felt

The mirror of your touch

My love and the instant flame

As I stood up slowly

As I made my way to your arms

Your intentions were not plain

I rose more slowly to find

You the second time around

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Who was it whose embers did burn?
After the fire had been doused
The mirror that reflected your image,
Even after you were gone
Why is it that you forget the path?
That was…by rims of my eyes,
Lit with candles, fuelled by my tears,
The one whose shoulders you held on
When you were skidding , slipping,

It was just that momentarily you had looked
Into a setting sun, a darkness…blinding you
I was always besides, had always been true
If ever nothingness is what surrounds you
You need to just need to sigh a name aloud,
For me, it shall be a clarion call
A whisper louder than a shout….

The next a waft of cool breeze comes calling on
Knocking on your doorway of time
And it appears hopelessly shut as such
Open the window and there you’ll find
This man, his intentions plain and true
Standing patiently under the autumn yew
Waiting, the spring of a smile from you…
Who always loved you so much…

The curtains to the show have not dropped as yet
Wait awhile…
The story is still alive
Just this world that we have passed through
Another world beyond this
Awaits…

On a beautiful sunny day
Peering beyond piles of hay
In the patch of strawberries
There I saw her majestic full glory
A beautiful auburn mare…
Challenging, ‘if I would dare’
Walk up to her I did and I saw her blink
Was it? Or was it a wink?
Sweating under a sun burning hotly
Looking at me she neighed softly
Her mane flowing, a long bushy tail
Inviting to help me find the Holy Grail?
As I mounted, she let go a soft kick
Off she went galloping at a full lick
We sped along the mountains and valleys
Cobbled roads and narrow alleys
Till silence overcame, wind fell and all was quiet
Like calmness restored after a violent riot
Shh…shh, I stroked her into calmness
Patting her neck gently and then a caress
As I got off her, a look from her of sorrow
Kissing her jowls, I said ‘shall meet again tomorrow’
As I look back, I see her still standing there
A silent tear I did see, I can swear
I decided to call her ‘Aubrey
In the patch of strawberry’

Till we meet again…
In solitude shall she remain.
Can animals also fall in love with us??

Here lies a foolish heart
Slayed by its own hand
A hand that had extended
To reach out and hold on to
A love that was lost
….in a nebulous dream.
Maybe someday, in a requiem
The dream shall offer a rose, red or white
But buried, deep under
Its own weight, can it ever revive?
Feel the touch, smell the aroma.
Alas! A heart is born only once
In peace let it lie, let it die…
Perhaps, in moments of solitude…
The rose may miss
Lying on the heart’s grave
Touch it, feel its cold warmth
By then, it shall be too late…
Fossilized into an epitaph stone.

The Mystery Lady
Dee Sep 2014
There she stood with a forsaken look,
Holding close to her breast a tattered book
Suddenly her nervous gaze fell upon me
I froze; my eyes glazed and I couldn’t see.

Couldn’t bear the sadness in her eyes
My heart was filled with un-exhaled sighs
Suffered she had a lot, in life’s meandering by - lane
The passing gusts hurting her like a hapless wind vane.

An emotional upsurge welled deep inside me
To protect her, to warm her freezing hands
To offer her solace, comfort her
And take upon myself the cause of her misery
But the moment was lost, as if ****** in by the sea
She was gone, in the desert, like a billowing grain of sand.

An entrancing soul and a classical beauty,
In freezing weather standing under the yew tree
Who was she? I guess I shall never know
A misty dream still lingers inside my heart’s window.
Who was she?

I live again
Dee Aug 2014
As I sight my first love…
The one who gave me definition
A reason for my existence
Thoughts flash back in time,
My aha moment, finding life
When…
Her tender mouth and lips said all
Breathing my breath,
She etched her name over mine
Without a moment’s parting,
Searching achingly, trembling
Leaving her signature tune
My heart ecstatic…
Fire coals forever cindering

How I desire to live again…
With a bouquet of red roses in my hand
On a bended knee, look up into her hazel eyes
I seek her hand in matrimony
“Yes tonight my darling” she smiles…

A Requiem to Life
Dee Sep 2014
Unable to perceive right from wrong
Oh! How long… how long
Whence the time would be forever lost.

Heavens came my way
But tides kept me astray
Alas! Such was their power
A deluge, not a trickle or a shower.

How I now wish
The clock had stood still
I could have clasped those precious moments
Before my life just withered and ebbed away.

Now as I stand far from myself
Look back and say
Where was I?
Where was my soul?

That beautiful, blessed day
When Heavens came my way.

Will you?
Dee Aug 2014
On the rough road of time, as we walk along
There would be a moment when I am gone

Would you then search for me behind the outcrop?
Across the silent lake, across leas and forests,
Wait for silent footsteps in the dark of night
Peer through smoke arising from a smoldering ember
Left over when with singed wings, I flew away
Make sense of the images, scattered in shattered glass
Or looked for a washed away name on sands of that instant
When hearts carved in soft barks, now scarred, lie weathered
Rummage into moments that were lost, to find scraps
Of bones with shredded flesh shorn of skin and soul

Don’t…
Reduced to a thought, a puff a wisp, can you
Touch flowing rivers water again?
I would be that drop of water
That headed out to be a part of the open seas

Are you here to stay?
Dee Aug 2014
Lonely all by myself
As I sat on the edge of life
In the falling shadows
Of the graying sky,
I felt your glow pass by
A gentle breath of fresh air
Was it your soft perfume…
As I wondered why?
Your presence so evocative of
Emotions that I thought
Were long dead and gone
You too…wandered for eons like I?

I imagine…
That as you slide by my side
A lonely teardrop, escapes your eye
Its unheard sorrowed cry
Resounding like a thunderous clap
Askance, a desire to be unwrapped,
Putting your head on my shoulder
I feel your hand slip into mine
Together as we sit in the fading light
Your eyes shut waiting expectantly
I see a hint of a smile most divine
Holding your face ever so gently
We kiss to the rising of a new dawn
A new sunrise, passing of a perfidious storm…
Rediscovering the love that I had lost
Thawing of moments, frozen by time’s frost.

Could it have been?
Dee Aug 2014
