Lonely all by myself
As I sat on the edge of life
In the falling shadows
Of the graying sky,
I felt your glow pass by
A gentle breath of fresh air
Was it your soft perfume…
As I wondered why?
Your presence so evocative of
Emotions that I thought
Were long dead and gone
You too…wandered for eons like I?

I imagine…
That as you slide by my side
A lonely teardrop, escapes your eye
Its unheard sorrowed cry
Resounding like a thunderous clap
Askance, a desire to be unwrapped,
Putting your head on my shoulder
I feel your hand slip into mine
Together as we sit in the fading light
Your eyes shut waiting expectantly
I see a hint of a smile most divine
Holding your face ever so gently
We kiss to the rising of a new dawn
A new sunrise, passing of a perfidious storm…
Rediscovering the love that I had lost
Thawing of moments, frozen by time’s frost.
