Why is it
That the biggest hearts
Are emptied the fastest?

And the brightest souls
Are blackened
The quickest?

October 20, 2014   8:40a.m.

On August 28, 2013, strictly as a novice, and not having posted anything, anywhere, I posted my first two pieces of "literary art" on the HP site. I had previously searched other similar sites until finally deciding on posting with HP. I'm glad I did.  Why?

Not knowing what to expect, I threw "1894", and "Folklore and Fairy Tales" into the "mixing bowl". Pradip and Sally were the first to comment, and I will never forget the encouragement their words gave me. Never! Quite often, I go back and re-read them, particularly when I get a little discouraged when the "writers block" syndrome decides to attack. Thank you both, so very, very much!

But that is the core of the HP family. There is an aura, a special atmosphere of cohesiveness among its contributors, willing to offer(in most cases) constructive criticism without being cynical, and always encouraging each other. Making friends whom we may never see, whose hands we may never shake, but a friendship none the less, that is spread throughout the globe, and the thoughts that will always be there. It is a feeling I did not sense with other sites.

One thing is for certain. We never know what our readers are going to like/dislike on any given day. When we post a piece, of what we may think is the work of "pure genius" could go by the wayside in seconds. On the other end of the spectrum, what we believe is not so great, could trend in minutes.

We will keep trying.

I saw your name on my phone
I caught my breath and knew I longed
to hear your voice so near
although you are so far, I fear~

I close my eyes and hear your voice
"Are you there? My love, I just wanted to hear
I just want you, my love to be so near~

I have returned in the quiet soft gentle of life
hearing your underlined voice, I cry, I might
get on a plane, if I could, I would
where I would nestle contentedly in the orchid
of our love~

I will continue to write on, into the soft shadows of midnight
I will smile and wait for the day, our muses will write as light
as one~ in passion, desire, in our long lost echoes that need
where the sweet words will be stirred in the gentle breeze
in a world that our hearts will be skipped in our pages
of poetry ~that will close the doors to all except our passion~

"Hello" you said, "Hello, open your door let me in, I will be your
secret sin."

"HELLO"

Have you time for me?
I often think in the heart!
You are Time my Lord!

A poet's pen is a wonder to behold.....
it never sleeps..

It goes to bed hungry anxiously ready to wake up and write again.. ..
Wants only to make its thirst quenched when it never can
holds on to the tomorrows and cannot forget the past.
Writes with love and pain and sometimes hatred
to satisfy the hurt that life can cause AND LAST.....

Hold that Poet's pen
hold it to your heart
to sing its praises
that cannot take a flight
sings of many sorrows
never to see the light of day
buried in many hearts.....

The prisons of come what may
The roving poet
sings of yesterday
crying of tomorrows
which will never come
the Poet's pen never rests with tears to hold it on.......

Tell Me Do You Care?
(If You Still Care)
For Me (About Me)
Tell Me Do You Care?
(If You Still Care)
For Me

Frank V (Verse 1):
Its Been A Little Minute
Since I First Got Down
Back In The Day
When N.W.A.
Could Say **** The Police
In The Original Kday
Thought I Was Ice Cube
Went & Bought An A.K.
Sprayed Some Boys In The Hood
But Don't Quote That
Thought I Was Eazy
When I Got My First Dope Sack
Bustin' Dope Raps
Servin' All The Fiends
Drug Money Was Legit
Rap Money Just A Dream
But The Dream Came True
When Kid Frost Came Through
I Heard La Raza
****, I Could Do The Same Too
So I Rep The Brown
In Every State & Town
Those Were The Days
But Today I Still Put It Down
For All The Fans
Who Feel They Got Disconnected
From The Game
When The Lames Came & Wrecked It
But If You Want The Real
Baby I'm Still Here
Are You Still There?
Tell Me Do You Still Care?

Chorus:
Tell Me Do You Care?
(If You Still Care)
For Me (About Me)
Tell Me Do You Care?
(If You Still Care)
For Me (For Me, For Me)

Conejo (Verse 2):
I Came In Gang Bangin'
On The Mic
Ese Fresh Off The Street
In My Cortez Nikes
Ese Beach Cruiser Bikes
Smoking Primos At Night
On Some Territory ****
Enemiga In Sight
I Knew How To Write
So I Put Em Together
My 4-Track Demos
Gon' Last Forever
Cause I'm Clever
With The **** I Say
Just A Boy From The Block
West Side L.A.
I Made A Deal With The Devil
I Traded My Soul
Didn't Know What I Was Doing
Till My Heart Turned Cold
And That Brought A Lot Of Trouble
In To My Life
Along With Classic Lp's
About My Struggles & Fights
But Still I Gotta Ask
If You Still Care
If Not I'll Pay A Visit
In Your Next Nightmare
That's Only Fair
Cause I Done This For You
Even Risk My Own Freedom
This Notorious Fool

Chorus:
Tell Me Do You Care?
(If You Still Care)
For Me (About Me)
Tell Me Do You Care?
(If You Still Care)
For Me (For Me,

Kid Frost (Verse 3):
Its The Original OG
Everybody Knows Me
Started In The 80's
With That Homie Ice-T
I'm A West Coast Pioneer
Set It Off - Lead The Way
A Chicano Rapper
From The Streets Of East L.A.
20 Years Later
Look At Me
Still On The Scene
Grinding Hard - Stacking Green
Still Doing My Music Thing
So Tell Me Do You Still Care?
To All My Loyal Fans
Are You Still There?
Put It In The Air
Throw It In The Sky
I'm A Do This Music ****
Until The Day I Die
I Look Up In The Sky
You Know I Stay Strong
They Gonna Play My Music
Even When I'm Dead & Gone

Everytime You Put It On
Until My Dying Day

For thou I shalt not use, but magnify thou in Repunzel status!!!

The dawn is right before us amour'
For we shalt be hand in hand to the store's
Of foliage and brisk!!!

From whence hast thou come?
Thy strands flow and run
To Michelangelo sketching!!!!

We shalt lay I'm ourn bedding
Seaside of Latin terrace
A bus and a fair to pair us on eagles edges!!!!

Threadbare kiss!!!

We shalt entwine like ***** of yarn
Set ourn own fruitful farm
No need to be alone mine aimer!!!!

For doth thou dare?

Under the grieving moon
we whispered secrets long kept.
Beneath the roaring waves
that drowned us as...
we quietly wept.

We spoke in hushed tones
of promises made to last.
Our cracked voices
melded with the echoes of a time...
of a fond memory in the past.

Water in our mouths
with words we jousted and lunged.
Heard only as hapless gurgles
and inaudible whimpers.
Unparried speculations
unsheathed and then plunged.

We cupped our wounds and retreated
knowing that we each drew blood.
We kissed with our eyes,
broke down walls
and welcomed the flood.

We wiped our cheeks
now smeared hot with tears.
Where did we err?
Who do we blame...
for dishevelled years?

We would never know...
but we must learn.
Time had shown us our mistakes
but our hearts had taught us
eternal love that burns.
