Sometimes its a shame to be black
We claim we're in it together
But the unity we lack

We belittle each other
Even though we all came
From the same father

Our ancestors fought to bring us to where are now
But how we choose to separate each other is foul

Light skins and dark skins
Doesn't matter we still have black skin
We need to begin
To listen

Build our race
So that every black person is safe
Racism is still real
And I cannot begin to explain how I feel

The black race is still frowned upon
Because our values are lost and gone

Let us begin to better each other
Build each other
Help one another
To get farther

Teamwork is essential
We have to realise our potential

It is a shame
How we let each other suffer
It breaks my heart
To see hungry child lost by a mother
When we have rich people
Who are greedy
In their fast cars speeding
Having no conscience or feelings
Because they won't even give to the needy
Lord Jesus I'm screaming
Please change the world
Make everyone start believing
That africa can rise
If we stop ignoring the cries
Of the poor
Revitalise the land
Before it dies
I know we can
If we keep our eyes on the prize

We can build africa
Make africa a staple
If only we work together
Bring something bigger to the table

We were blessed to be born on this beautiful land
So let us join hands
And make africa
As big as we can
I just want not only africans but black people to stop being victims and make our race be more respected and accepted worldwide

Dear society,

Stop trying to sober us up.
We’re young and bright
and beautiful and loud.
We will light up every
corner of every room
and still shine brighter
than the sun.

Stop telling us to cover up.
We will wear little black dresses
and bright red lipsticks,
leave lip-stains all over
your precious little world
and look so good doing it
that you’ll have to look away.

Stop telling us to slow down.
We live and love with so much
power and strength that we
cannot stop for you
or anyone, for that matter.
Every day is our day
and the world, our oyster.

Stop telling us we’re useless.
One day, we’re going to run the world
for you; going to be soldiers, doctors
writers, artists, speakers of the truth
and the truth is that we’re alive
and strong and here, and
you cannot control us.

From impatient, beautiful, and exuberant young girls everywhere.
Close your eyes,
And start to dream.
Let go the world,
And float downstream.

Enter the darkness,
Now start to create.
Start with the land,
Then water, now wait!

What about light?
And how 'bout it's source?
You can't live in the dark,
Unless you want to of course.

Now start placing plants.
Think of shape, colour, size.
This is your world,
Make your plants rise!

Now mess with the land.
Do what you want.
Make mountains or valleys,
This is your jaunt.

Hang up the moon,
(or two if you want),
Then throw in some stars.
This is your place to flaunt.

Remember some creatures,
Just make them weird.
Some cute or scaled,
Or some to be feared.

Now to finish it off,
It needs a ruler (that's you).
Now if you'll excuse me,
I've my own world too.
I wasn't actually bored when I wrote this one. I actually kind of like it.
Your smile is the poetry
I was never able to write
For it never had words
An honest expression of your soul
Unmatched radiance across your face
Poetry which is most eloquent
Recited from your heart to mine
The reflection in your eyes
Like a mirror to my lost soul
The depths truly astound me
Nowhere to go
But deep into your poetry
Where I can feel your misery
The beginning of your love
The mask you hide behind
But OH!
The beauty I can find
Within your words so clearly defined
Much love, hurt, pain and sadness
We are one of a kind
Filled with joy and madness
Your flows speak to me
Your rhymes tell me your story
With each stanza the truth is revealed
How you feel
And the pain you hide
I want to see what's behind
The mask covering your eyes
The truth of your disguise
Your words told me your story
Now I wanna see the face of that poetry

******, you look beautiful to me
I just wanted to say how much connection I feel with all of you and how I absolutely love reading all your poetry. Thank you all for sharing.

LOTS OF LOVE!
