Both can ****
        The only difference is
                      Cigarettes shatter lungs
         She shatters everything

            I remembered the first moment
my lips pressed the filter
as I lit it up breathed it all
                savored every smoke
as if we covered up painful lies
        in a container of painkillers

The same way
we used to pressed our lips
     sparked something between us
           savored every moment we had
as if our love was a rose
               in a valley of tulips

Happiness dies
        Excitement dies
Love dies
              People die.
                                  .
                                       .
                                           .
                                   And we get over it,
But our hearts don't.
                                  And
                                      so
                                        our
                                              souls
                                                      die.
Just a thought I played around with.

She
.
He is just another notch
on her sterile bed of love.
He is just another victim
     of conquest for her thighs.
She is just another link
in his daisy chain of woe.
She is just another span
on his long bridge of sighs.

He feels the weight of his family dragging him down.
All that surrounds him is the prying eyes of his town.
His daddy stands in front of him, glaring, with a frown.
The weight of the burden he carries is heavy, under pressure, he buckles to the ground.
His knees hit the dirt, and he hears the deafening sound.
Unable to tear his eyes from the dirt, knowing exactly for what he’s been bound.
Wrists tied, forced to his feet, made to watch as they slip on a crown
To the man, his father, cackling, he's a circus clown.
To the woman, his mother, sheepishly wishing to drown.
To the little girl, his sister, crying, watching he’s bown.
To the young boy, his brother, wishing he could just take off that gown.
As they grab him, forcing him limp, one last time, he feels the weight of his family dragging him down.

I don’t want to Open my mouth
Because I’m still afraid The truth might come out.
And if it does If it really breaks free...
You’ll see what I am, You’ll see the true me.
The one I hide With jokes and lies.
I’m a terrible person.. All jokes aside
You don’t seem to know it, You don’t seem to see...
Even a glimpse of that person That I know to be me.
I’m such a good actor I hide it so well,
Cover it with a laugh And you’ll never tell.
You see depth in my eyes, You see love and emotion.
But what would you see If I ever did open...
I can’t bear to find out, I can’t bear to show.
The me you don’t see The me that I know...
If I let it out, If I let it be
I know for a fact...
That you would hate me.

I was waiting for a happy ending
But now I'm just waiting for the end

if only he knew
that every time
i look at him
i see a galaxy
a galaxy
too far
away
from
me.
