High School, and all it entailed
The groggy early mornings,
And stress for classes not to be failed
The lunch table ramblings,
And pep filled rallies
Even the final review game tallies,
Figuring out what I wanted to do,
And my ignorant love for you
Feels just like yesterday,
But yesterday's beginning to feel rather far away.

People die every day,
Going for a quick stroll,
Driving down the toll.
Fighting for freedom,
Chasing the high of a heavenly kingdom.
Alone with a gun to their head,
Surrounded in a hospital bed.
But not us,
After all, who would keep on living.
The spectators,
Listening to eulogies,
Lying about their character,
Living.
You and I, we can’t die, it’s not possible.
Until it is.
Inspiration from binge-watched TV show bound to be forgotten.

Whenever you speak
Hours pass as if seconds
Yet each second is eternity

I can't help but direct my gaze
To your eyes set ablaze
With passion enough to raze
Me in entirety

My responses are nothing but dumb
But your smile punctuates each one
So we keep up this game of fun
Pretending to not notice
This conversations time has come
And our little party must now be done

We stand to leave and I'm unsure of quite what to say
I mean of course it was nice seeing you today
And I know you don't feel the same way
All I want to do is relay
The fact that I fall for you a little more everyday
Does the fact that the title is a lie and these lines are not from an unsent love letter make it worse?

Sitting under the shade of this great big tree
I find myself happy as can be
And as it begins to rain
I remain unafraid
For I know my tree shall protect me
But suddenly
A bolt of lighting
Strikes my angel of green
And I must say
As the leaves began to burn away
I find myself rather upset
And increasingly wet
Under the shade
Of this once great big tree
You ever just wake up at like 4 am for no reason, with a bunch of mildly rhyming lines in your head?

I don't mind slow burn
But I just need to know
I'm not the only one on fire
I don't even know anymore man(or woman, or whichever pronoun you prefer), I'm just sooo over romanticizing idealistic versions of people I barely know

I've no need in an afterlife
As I know there is life after mine

I've no need in a god of the universe
For me a godless universe isn't any less

I long ago gave up trying to find my purpose
When I found I could make it myself

I can't believe in love at first sight
Seeing as I fall a little more in love every time we meet

And I'm hesitant to speak of true love
Since I've loved many who loved to lie

I know we aren't made evil
Because we make evil all on our own
People often get hung up on a dichotomy where either you believe what they believe or in nothing at all, when that's seldom the case

One day I’ll find the way to say it,

That I’ve found myself bit,
By a bug that detests the alone

That I’ve fallen into a great pit,
Whose four-letter name sets quite the tone

That I’ve experienced a cardiac fit,
As my heart’s upped and gone

Yet no way seems to carry enough wit,
To let my love for you be known

One day I’ll find the way to say it,
Even if only on my gravestone.
I've never held hands romantically so take this with a grain of salt

Busy busy busy Bee,
Oh, woe is me, that I must work tirelessly,
unraveling the inner beauty,
of something inherently devoid of any
attractive qualities.
Procrastination time

It’s kinda funny,
Everyone you have chosen
To Love,
To Hate,
To Fear
Was once to you
A nameless face,
A faceless name,
Perhaps both
Perhaps neither
But for sure they were
At the very least
A Stranger

There once was a ***** named April
Who found herself in the town of Cape of Canaveral
She'd waste away the days
In splashing waves
Scant was her memory of a time before
And little thought was there of anything more
Than the time spent with her old sailor
Each sunrise brought the promise of adventure and play
Although as time passed sleep began to take up more of the day
But content was she
To curl in the lap of a man
Who loved his dog more than the sea
Call me crazy, but some of the realest convos I've had have been with my dogs

People often ask if I fear death,
I don’t.
I ask them if they fear life,
They don’t.
Then why is it should I dread universal finite,
When they are unafraid of temporary infinite,
For a life can’t exist without end,
Lest it be relegated mere existence
Insomnia fueled nonsense
