Late-night cravings
Seem pretty normal
You’re thinking about food
Right?
Desserts
Salty snacks
All that jazz
I crave those things
But I crave more
Songs
Feelings
People
I will stop what I’m doing
To listen to a song I crave
I will write and write and write
Until I reach a feeling I crave
And I will close my eyes and dream
About a person I crave
I want to soak up your presence
Like I soak up a song
Engrave every lyric in my mind
Lose myself in the melody
I
Crave
You
you know when you write a word so many times it doesn’t seem like a real word anymore?

“I’m bad at saying goodbye”
I am too
In a way
I’m bad at knowing how to leave a new friend
Wave or hug?
I don’t know what to do when you say goodbye and you continue to walk in the same direction
Simple things
Then it gets deeper
What do you do
When you make new friends
Only to have them leave again?
How do you say goodbye?
I dread the thought
Of this summer being over
Of goodbyes being said
Of these memories ending
What do you do
When your best friend grows up before you
Leaves for college and does great things
How do you say goodbye?
A hug doesn’t seem to be enough
Words don’t suffice
When these people you hold close
Are now only close in your heart
I don’t need to dwell on it now
I have two months for fun
Before goodbyes
Yeah
I’m bad at saying goodbye too
this poem was inspired by two things from tonight!! first off one of my newer friends is leaving for the summer before leaving for college and I was thinking about how I’m going to miss him even though we kinda just met. also the first line is somewhat of a paraphrased quote from a friend that stuck with me for some reason even though it wasn’t supposed to be significant

Just one night
So anticipated
So looked forward to
Now over
As I lay in bed
With aching feet and tired eyes
I let the recent memories wash over me
The songs
The dancing
The conversation
A smile comes to my face
I think back to just hours ago
And hope
That I can save every little detail
Remember every little moment
Cherish every little memory
Never let the night go
I just got home from my first prom :O it was l i t and I’m pleased

Take out the map
Turn the key
Let’s explore
I want to know
I want to feel
Every inch
Of your pretty mind
Thoughts are swirling
Mind is racing
Let me in
Let’s explore
woohoo first poem!! I’m not. The greatest at writing but it’s ok dhdhsjs
this isn’t really based off of anyone in particular it kinda just came to my head
Tell me how to answer the question
of how the moon kissed
you goodnight
of how the stars hugged
you to sleep
of how the sky touched
you for a sweet dream
And I am still jealous
with the thought
of it
Show me the way out,
of the closed door
that you built,
of the crossed line
in all of the impossibilities,
of the unexpectancy
that I’ve been expecting
Is there any possible way,
for me
to undo
all of these feelings
I have for you?

Be the change you want to see
Try not to judge, let others be
The rain will stop, the storm shall pass
Pleasure is pleasing and love can last

Set up for sorrow, it's hard to see
Open your eyes, switch off your tv
Put down the remote and venture outside
Get out in to nature where healing resides

Turn off your phone, log off the net
You'll be surprised with the solace you get
Write a poem, cook a nice meal
Declare your love, see how it feels

Put away the plastic, stop doing your hair
Go back to basics, even though it's rare
Laugh at your troubles, hug it out
Why are you frowning, what's that all about
A sign of the times, the information age
Escape from the trap, break out of your cage

Tell me now, how do you feel
Please keep it up, do we have a deal
Memories last but gadgets do not
Live your life fully, run from the rot
I'm not in a rush to leave this place.
I'm in no hurry, it's not a race.

I'd like to take it real slow.
So many stunning  places to go.

I want to travel far and wide.
See much more of the English countryside.

Beautiful beaches that surround us in Cornwall and Devon, remind us we live  in our own corner of Heaven.

Mystical places with tales of legends to tell.
So much to do and see, I'll do my best to make it sell.

Tintagel such a mystic place, where legend has it King Arthur had his chair.
He had a roundtable it held many Knights, all ready to defend, always ready for a fight.

In York a Viking museum to tell how they came upon our shores, with longboats, a 60 man crew, paddled with their oars.

Bath has the best Roman baths to be found, laze and spoil yourself in the steam rooms built in Roman surrounds.

In Wales, there's Snowdonia for you to climb, or the less active can take a train ride.
A castle in Caernarfon where Princes are appointed by H M The Queen, the sword on the shoulder duly declares arise HRH Prince of Wales, the crowd are waiting for the new Prince to be seen.

In Scotland there's Edinburgh with a castle tall and round sits atop a very high mound.
The lowlands and the Highlands are a sight of well known beauty, driving around the lochs at night keep your eyes open for a monstrous sight, nessie fact or fiction,

Of course there are the lakes of England too, Windermere the largest draws the biggest crowd. Find a cottage out of sight, snuggle up with a loved one, cuddle tight.
Put on your water skis, hire a boat, sail your wind surfing board, fire up your jet ski any of these activities can be fun and available to be done, daily.

The Cotswolds, for take your breath away beauty, small villages, luscious village greens, cricket playing in the field, Large Houses, Lord of the Manors, old worldly pubs, thatched pubs and rivers waiting to be seen.

There are Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and Exmoor too, Peak District, Lake District mountain ranges, many a zoo.

I'm not in a rush to leave this place.
I'm in no hurry, it's not a race.

I'd like to take it real slow.
So many stunning  places to go.

So much to do, so much to see.
On your doorstep, no need to stray.
Whatever you do, wherever you go, have a happy holiday.
The sun is out, its a beautiful day and no other place I would rather be   I hope you enjoy and it doesn't sound too much like a travel board announcement.
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way

than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
