Who do you become when everyone is gone?
Who do I become when everyone is gone’

The girl in my poems,
she lives in the darkness
and never steps into the light.
I have never seen her
but I feel her when I step into the dark.
I can feel her tears when I touch her,
I can hear her quietly speaking
while she's lying in my arms.
And while she'll never come into the light
I can try to draw her with my words
'cause that's the only way
she can be seen.
I just hope that you'll see
the beautiful girl
I met in the shadows
if you look at my words.

You whispered in my ear, “I’ll always love you”
I whispered in yours “I know”
We sat under the stars
We stared at the infinite, we spoke about endless possibilities
We dreamed
I reminded you of that night
You said you didn’t remember
You reminded me of all my mistakes
I reminded you of all my accomplishments
You whispered in my ear “I can’t love you anymore”
I whispered in yours “neither can I”
The fall
you left
not quite yet
you wont stay away
why you do you do
what you do
why
do you give up
the things
you feel the need to maintain
why do you
keep on
staying where it is not your place
to stay
why
do you think
it is okay to do both
leave and come at the same time

From out of the void
it came without warning
one winter morning

In a spin, out of control
no warning,
escaping an orbit

The blaze that was left
for many minutes
warmed the world

but this surprise summer
did not last very long

and we could not sing
to the end of our song
She is born of earth.
But the other rejects its own nature.

Her body Is a muse.
But the other has no breath of its own
To inspire.

She opens up
To the rays of the morning.
But the rising of the sun
Does not excite the latter.

She dances
With the whispers of the wind.
But stiff and stifled
The other is not tickled.

But what of the soft perfume
That lends charm
To even the most common daisies?

What little charm the other has
Are fabricated
By the hands of man

This other
In the struggle
For a life not its own
Is perverted into paralysis
And paralyzed in pretense

She is The Lily of The Valley.
But you are a plastic flower.

I love you
But only as a friend
Maybe a little less than that
It's a love from a worn out past
And it's fading
More now than ever before

You are kind
And I am strong and beautiful
Perhaps our paths diverge here
Not out of malice
Or ill will
Just differences
And the growth of two trees
In different directions
No matter where we go, we'll always have the same roots.

As the day draws to a close
and the darkness shows its face
I peek from my dimly lit room
and find the stars in heaven's place

The darkness holds me
in cold embrace
Keeps me hidden
Of my loneliness it keeps only a trace

In the night I hold the power
to control my own fate
I answer only to the unseen
unbound by others' gate
