In a room, with the walls painted grey,
A bed, a cupboard, a table and a chair, finds their place in its emptiness.
The curtains, of a melancholic shade, drawn shut, as if the sun burns
Wrapped in solitude, my eyes can see better in this dark.
No voices, no people, only the walls to listen to,
The stories mentioned by its inhabitants that passed through.
The grimness ever spreading, reiterating a life's worth of tales
This solitary confinement is a saving grace, as the world outside fails.
And with passing time, I chose to hide
Rather than face my fears waiting outside.
Within these grey walls,
I see a chance to be at peace with myself, until one day, the heavens whisper its time to come home.
I should stop searching for heaven.
Now that I've found you,
I see my heaven
             *In your
  eyes,
                    In your  voice,
                            In your   touch,
                                       In your  **arms.
Was it so long ago
Under the old oak we built our dreams?
So tiny, we were,
The world seemed like such a big place
For two dream chasers, like us.

Was it a thousand years ago
When you in all your innocence
Said that you'd check under the bed
In all your childish valor, and clear me of my fears?

Do you remember,
When we sat by the cold stream
With the water running through our feet,
How you picked up a few daisies
And crowned me as the queen?
And how I picked up a stick
And made you my knight of honor?

Remember running back home,
When it got too late,
Scared your old man, a drunk,
Will beat your Ma and make you cry?
How when I waved good bye from the next door,
All I hoped was that you'll make it out alive
The next day.

Was it so long back,
When we lay in green fields
And looked up to the blue skies,
Dreaming one day, we'll make it up there
And never have to look back in tears?

Flying paper planes and trying to catch our dreams
Doesn't seem so long now,
That you said goodbye
*And made it first to what lay beyond the blue skies.
Life of a single man

Sometimes we *** in the shower
And we hardly ever make the bed
We clean ourselves with shampoo
Using the lather from our heads

At times we wear the same old socks
That we wore the day before
And dont even get us started
On how long jeans last on the floor

When the bed gets made we sleep on top
Then just straighten when we get up
And do we really need to wash the sheets
If our skin they do not touch

We drink milk from the carton
Eat fast food way to much
We have pizza pie for dinner
And eat leftovers when we get up

We want the house to look real clean
So there are rooms that we don't use
When we can write our name in dust
That's when we grab a broom

This is the life of a single man
We just do what we want to do
It is very hard for us to change
When we meet that someone new

So dont try to change us overnight
So far we have made it through
But if by chance we fall in love
We may just change for you

that I never had.

It's 3 am again
and I am here
and you are there
and I am alone in my bed
so I can't whisper
"G'night sugar"
in your ears
or tickle you to sleep
or wake up to your legs
or your heat
or your sleepy eyes.

*Breathe deep and feel me now
You should go and leave,
when his words started
to leave you wounds
instead of butterflies.
When his hands started
to show violence and
leave you bruises
instead of comfort and care
When your ears started
to hear lies instead of truth.
When the tears in your eyes
are products of the pain you feel
instead of laughter and joy.
When your mind started
to ruin by doubts and worries
instead of sweet thoughts
when it’s already filled with
bad and painful memories
instead of happy and memorable ones
When your heart started
to be replete with anger and pain,
instead of happiness and love.

I think our eyes would light up and ignite
As we finally return His gaze on us.
And every second to eternity
Will be painted with joy as
We play hide and seek in the maze
Created by the train of His robe that fill heaven's halls.
Then we will swim and splash in His overflowing glory,
And in the towering staircase,
Race each other to His throne.
But no
We won't grow tired and weary
I think that we will even go ahead
And get dizzy from dancing in worship
And lose our breath from laughing and singing praises.

Well...
We might just turn heaven into a playground,
But then again
We are His children after all!
Some people think of the golden streets and big rooms when you mention heaven. But this is what comes up to my mind.
