Unspoken Wisdom Speaks What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** how to struggle, scrap, and scrape, as well as, tries as he may, in order to provide for his family; in time hopefully, he determines in life this may if not always will be necessary What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** that society has a hefty, respect for a winner, yet it has a habit of closing as many doors as possible which limits the Negro’s ability to obtain this elusive and yes lofty goal in life What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** that society expects a certain amount of personal initiative yet it attempts to discourage the ***** at every corner by forcing them to focus on the obstacles and roadblocks rather than the strategy necessary to overcome the difficult tasks at hand What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** that it is possible to bootstrap your way to success, however, it fails to inform the ***** exactly where the bootstraps are kept What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** that the American dream can be accomplished by anyone who truly has a desire to obtain it; however, it fails to inform the ***** that the dream has various levels of reward and some are quite egregious What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** that failure is a natural course of life when one seeks to obtain a level of success; however, it failed to tell the ***** that the obstacles for some are not nearly as challenging as it is for others What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** that we are offered an entry level position and we should be grateful for this success and if we seek more; then the challenge of being accepted is added to the challenges of preparing for the next level What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** that mastering the skills of the next level can be a practice in futility if his behavior doesn’t fit in with what is considered the norm for American Negroes in the eyesight of greater society What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** that obtaining the goal is only a part of the battle; praise from, recognition by, and acceptance of your supposed peers is the next challenge What has Integration taught the American ***** It taught the ***** to try as he may and he may be granted entry, providing that he has honestly tried as he might (SMILE) What has Integration taught the American ***** On’ know Exclusively and Originally Written By Elvan

Did what I said this morning make it through? Who is watching us,with the book of the dead tattooed on their skin? Will you ever let me back in your trailer? Can you make one for me, so I can make one for you at home? Do you remember when your bootstrap broke, And I broke down for you...The emotional shuttle crash? Do you remember when I told you I was bad news, And I would hurt you, and I was arrogant too? Do you remember how many brownie points I still owe you? Am I still someone you want around? Should I leave you be, and never turn back? What do you want from me? Can I tell you what I want from you?

I have proverbial boot straps And I pull them everyday They bundle tight the kitchen knives And keep the guns at bay But there will be a time I mean there's gonna be a day Where I let loose these imaginary shoestrings And take my life away And you may think don't go You might even yell please stay This is not a game of wills I have no cards left to play Do not conflate my mental illness With my willingness to stay This world and you were beautiful Come what may

Bootstrap
As howling twill sky that flounder darken with clouds to fester anything upon the hill with a dicey shrill moment that this comradery has met with only a bootstrap by lot in a surfboard.

There’s too much alone In a lonely soul. Too many empty hours. Too many rainy days Too few sunny ones Too many showers. Yes I know it’s depression And I know it has my name Pasted on every wave I know this ugly game. I know the power it has. I wish I were stronger. I held the line a long time; Not sure how much longer. There’s too much alone In a lonely soul. To many empty hours. Too many rainy days Too few sunny ones Too many showers. I tried just bucking up Bootstrap tugging days. I tried chanting to myself In Eastern and Western ways. I started reading self-help stuff And took up yoga classes. I tried the usual run of things Applauded by the masses. There’s too much alone In a lonely soul. To many empty hours. Too many rainy days Too few sunny ones Too many showers. I begged and prayed to God To take this burden away. But so far God himself has had Not a single word to say. So now I finally learned To eat marijuana daily. I cook it into brownies And I get along quite gaily!

THE DEPRESSION DOO ***
Are the motivations of our heart, in sync with The Word’s principles? Do we recognize that we’re guilty and forgiven… by our blessed Lord? While some forces seem irresistible, we know that the battle is not ours and our responsibility is in the gap; are we truly standing united in Faith, meeting needs and praying, employing The Word as our spiritual bootstrap? We push forward, not permitting pasts to hold us back and bind our hands; the mission of His Kingdom continues, we willingly celebrate our commitments and help others to exit the wasteland of empty or destructive lifestyles. When we’re humbled, we’re grateful and thankful for His lasting goodness; in His sacred wake, we’re left knowing… that towards us, He’s always merciful.

Poem: Guilty and Forgiven
There is no dignity in the bootstrap The sad lack of facts that fat cats spread The lies that said to be strong You must pull yourself up But the rope that they would have you use Is the one they use to hang you with Boot laces and straps don’t hold up to that They will snapped withered from the labor Tare and be shredded before the vetted Ever get high enough to overcome Where they come from While the rich man’s son Doesn’t even have to bother with one

Bootstrap
Remember the scruffy but lovable traveler with his worn bindle so characterized? The hobo was a gig guy way back when, hopping on trains to make ends meet. The romance, the adventure, all on your own, responsible to no one in particular. Now an ingrained myth among our other self myths. The loner, the go-getter. The self-made man, the bootstrap hiker-upper. We love our John Wayne stories of glory, now etched in granite and hanging over us like a scolding aunt’s repeated finger-wagging. It’s hell trying to live up to the slogans, bumper sticker thoughts, and flag-waving aficionados.

Going off the rails
I got no patience for these agents of deliberate corporate contagions, or the minefield that yields the bootstrap philosophy that never actually worked in this society.

Trip trap hey bootstrap
Our nation is facing automation as politicians push the same stupid bootstrap Ayn Rand statements. Current wages haven’t been adjusted for inflation and corporations are taking more welfare then the poor are given A quarter of the budget from the military industrial complex could wipe out student debt and protect healthcare so people don’t have to move away or die here But, I’m just a nine to five working wage guy, how could I possibly know about helping our economy grow and leveling the playing field for each successive generation that makes it here.

Drinking *** doesn't make you a pirate Or dressing like a buffoon The only harties you have Are the ones you pay or groom Three in a bed is a nursery rhyme Not something for every night But put on that shirt and grab your pistol Or in your case a guitar And strut about like bootstrap Bill Wooing with your charm But charm like sunlight fades into dark night When there is no substance and *** and "Coke" are rife I looked up too you talent You really did some good But maybe you're a pirate after all Leaving a wake of *****

Dressing up
I'm ******* beyond repair Birds flying in pairs Sky Blue Yellow Green This lock down making me maniacal On the edge of the night hearing satanical Crushed herbs calling out my name Fluppy clouds again over my head Burning rage beneath the rib cage. Image Engage Backstage Trapped in a loop of bootstrap paradox I never created this ,yet sill exists. Pass in on imagination wearing off. ©sarcasticbong
