Rays of pink, splatter across the escaping sky.
Blue and orange chase after the sun,
Coming into view for only a moment,
Until the green horizon engulfs the color-filled sky.
Struggling to stay above the sharp trees;
Begging to be noticed, and appreciated.
Disappointment is constantly thrown into the world,
Shared among others with closed eyes.

The world is slowly running from daylight,
Into the blinding of the stars.
Erasing the colors of the day,
only to color once more.

Finally the earth topples over,
Falling deep beneath the wondering minds,
Entangled in exotic dreams.
The freckles of the sky,
gleam above the sleeping land.
Within the trees play the songs of the night.
Colliding sounds, creating a lullaby for the listening ears.

Playing until little speckles of colored light shine on their backs,
Ever so slightly becoming stronger.
When finally, all traces of darkness is forgotten.
Disappearing under the rising horizon
appears the creation of new colors.
Following an undecided time,
The sun continues to rise and fall.
With rays of pink
that splatter across the escaping sky,
coming into view for only a moment.

Laying in the pile
Of broken hopes and dreams
All I know is pessimism
All I hear are screams

Slowly I am crushed
And what little is left of me..
All I feel is anger
All I know is agony

Everything I am
who Im trying to be..
All I know is Im alone
All I feel is misery

Im in a hole so deep
The light is but a speck
And all I know is loneliness
All I feel is regret
Much poetry
May fade quickly
From memory.
Though there are such
That move us much,
Our souls do touch.

Catch us off guard
Or strike a chord,
Our hearts reward.
Some witty, wry
Some make us cry
Or wonder why.

Others inspire
Dreams and desire,
Ignite a fire.
Many appeal
for they are real,
They make us feel.

The truly great
Reverberate,
They resonate.

As leaves are to the tree"

The candle is out
The darkness is here
Covering you up
Like a tongue
On a small piece
Of candy
Dissolving you
And sometimes
Not even bothering
To really taste you.
How can I begin to explain
This sudden rush of happiness?
It's not something I try to feign,
As far as I'm concerned, I'm blessed
To be overcome with all this
Blissful wonder swirling inside
Of my tender heart that had missed
The feelings it was sure had died.
I'll embrace the glorious joy
I've inexplicably found!
It surely seems not like a ploy
In which I'm trying to be bound.
Nevertheless, I feel quite nice.
In this splendor, I'll be basking.
It's quite the opposite of a vice,
I needn't resort to any masking
Of all this bright, splendid delight.
Still in my sight, I see the light
Despite any past forms of plight;
Its pursuance still feels so right.
I can't eat.
You think that I'm stupid,
But it's no small feat
Because though I can feel my stomach shrinking inside me,
I am stuck on repeat,
Starving, ignoring, forgetting
Yanking with this sharp leash
Saying don't eat
Don't eat
Don't eat.
Because maybe then I'll have some control.
Or the ugly will go away.
Maybe the black, consuming pain
In my heart,
Will finally turn to gray.
"Gosh Mary! Why don't you eat? I just love food!"

On the inside,

I'm a wonderland.

You say that I'm your universe,
but I am only shattered stars.

My world imploded on itself,
leaving shards,
Of planets and galaxies
sticking out of my skin,

And the blood from my wounds run red,
inspiring you to call me your rose.
