Dustin Lanham
He grabbed a brush and painted the sky.
He painted it broad, He painted it wide.
From a stroke of white He created the clouds,
Then splashed in birds to fill it with sound.
With precision and class He painted the grass,
Covered in dew to make it last.
Happy with that, He moved on to the trees;
The trunks so tall with their branches of leaves.
He poured on oceans, rivers, and streams,
And took extra effort on the sun, it seems.
That fiery ball that makes the day so bright,
And the pearly moon to light the sky at night.
But then with an unfortunate turn of luck,
He spilled on a sickening poisonous muck.
It manifested across the land,
the error of God-
The creation of man.

i like artists
artists of all kinds
artists of words
artists of colour
artists of thoughts
they're the civilisation
they're the world
they're the visionaries
the children
the lovers
the hearts of gold
an artist is the one with the voice
the radiance of the sun
the summer in your eyes
the lover in disguise
the hurt in the dark
the tears and the smiles
an artist hides deep down
the one who lives in pain and shame
they say artists will never survive
i say artists are the reason we're still alive
this is a poem dedicated to every single artist there is out there

Fish The Pig
she's been staring at blank pages
tapping her pencil against the desk
shaking her foot
she's been staring at blank pages
lost for inspiration.

she's started to cry
late at night
sometimes in the day
she's got a weight on her chest
she overwhelmed with emotions.

She's been filling up those blank pages
pencil swishing back and forth
paintings
drawings
poems
stories
each tear drop
a new chapter
every sniffle
a stroke of the brush

overjoyed to produce lovely work
dying from the pain
loathing the necessity
that artists
need to be miserable
in some way
or another
to be great
why are creative people so tortured?

--lol right as I finished writing this poem two ambulances drove by with sirens blaring. perfection.

My home is full of strangers
We may stay together
but nothing more
We are worlds apart
No place in heart
And it is hard
To stay this aloof
Under the same roof

I always fall in love with poets
discount the warnings from other poets

I always fall in love with poets.
even the ones who would stay aloof

I always fall in love with poets
knowing I could do a whole lot worse!

Follows his heart
Over his mind!
Over his sanity,
Layers ideas insane.
Illusion of his brain
Solace to his rareness
Hard pulled, Hard fooled

In the dark days
No one ever said

Your'e a different head
One of the heads
Unusual,
Rare, but
Still a head!

Humty dumpty
Eats the same
And against all odds
Dies the same!

You pushed me away
Far from your reach
Unto the sky
Outside the universe
Into the distant galaxy
Where nobody could see
The tiny speck of dust
That is me
What it feels like...

This coquettish smile,
I splay every time,
Knowingly,
Unknowingly,
Is cold fire
Born out of
Rubbing thoughts.
Frozen I am,
Was, will be.

He stood there
looking so aloof
Claim himself a warrior
Protector of peace

He stood there
looking so aloof
Bragging to the world
I help the poor

He stood there
Looking so aloof
Cheating the whole world
Wearing sheep's clothings..

He stood there
Oh please....
Let the world know
He is the wolf
in sheep's clothing...

I know that I'm not all there
scattered pieces everywhere
I had to let parts of me die
just so others could survive
joy, pain, angst and rage
are just shards of the puzzle
I have to learn to turn the page
to break free from those struggles

doing so time after time
has taught me not to try
investing  in attempts to find
whats not worth sacrifice.
