When I was little
I played in the rain.
I've never felt so
free
in my entire life.
The sensation of raindrops
hitting my face,
splashing in and out
of puddles,
and stomping my feet
in the mud.
Life doesn't get better
with age.
The best its ever gotten
was when I was 9,
playing in the rain.
Being a silly kid,
it doesn't get
better than that.
your love runs dry
it always rains
you’re the reason
for my worst days
the blues I choose
the shades of gray
you paint the sky
on my darkest days
I hate you most
but I hate the way
you’re still the sun
on my perfect days

I can give you everything else,
Except my heart.
It hurts everytime I think of
How we fell apart.

And it's not even the distance
Between us.
It's just our egos and the emotions.
We kept behind bars.

Imprisoned,
In a mind full of insecurity.
The reason,
We've never felt assured of our beauty.

We want others to see,
What we want them to see.
And so we show our best selves,
Instead of just being us.

Love yourself, before you learn to love me.

she closes her eyes
in her mind she wanders
through a garden of beautifully fragranced flowers
fresh air fills her lungs
birds sing their gentle song
skipping through her garden
oh the sweet escape

There is too much regret
In unspoken words
The quiet thoughts
Whispered only to the moon

There is too much longing
In wishful thinking
Daydreams
Can quickly become a nightmare

There are too many tears
Spilled onto pillows
Over suffering and longing
From words unsaid

You always thought
     the world wasn't fair;
                 That happiness came only
                      to the gullible.

I know it annoyed you
        when I knew exactly how
                          to make you laugh.

You couldn't stand it
         when I'd amuse you
so I might see the smile
                    that you so badly
                                     wanted to hide.

But that tired eyed
pessimist that
I once knew
                   seems to have found
                                  something more important,
                    something new.

And now that you're gone,
           It's like I have
chapped lips.

It hurts when I grin
           So I adopted
your scowl.

But if you were wrong,
        and the world can be fair;
              since I've got your frown,

I hope you've got my smile.
