The New Father's Dispute
Tyler James Dec 2015
Preparedness is a fallacy
Struck with unexpected reality
Doubtfully embracing your arrival

Second thoughts of commitment
Satisfied with contentment
Abruptly changing perspective

Overwhelming compassion
Mind numbing satisfaction
Granted purpose to the unaware

Private Thoughts
Tyler James Dec 2015
If a thought is not put into a word, in turn, into an action,
How much value does a thought truly have?
A thought is not heard, nor is seen.
Instead a thought provokes the strongest sense of all,
A thought is felt.
Only the mind with the thought can feel the weight it bears.
A personal bond is created at that moment.
There is a sort of intimacy between them.
A privacy that cannot be revealed,
That is until a word stumbles off the edge of one’s lips.
Evermore,
That thought has been shared,
which now is up to interpretation and judgement.
Once exposed to the air we breathe
The original thought becomes polluted and loses its purity.
The thought evolved into a word,
Now anxious to become an action.
So distant from where the thought developed.
An action can truly affect others regardless the intensions.
You can guarantee an action will become open to the public.
It can been seen, it can be heard.
We tainted this thought and raised it into the beast of an action.
At the simplest form you have a thought,
It is simplicity where you find beauty.
Enjoy the simple things in life,
Because it is a thought that spark the smile.
When we talk about value the worth is in the heart of the consumer.
Value is subjective and is not numerical.
So when asked, how much value does a thought truly have?
The answer is immeasurable.

Whole New Cycle
Tyler James Oct 2014
When it concludes
Control your feelings and moods.
You only have power over
Your passion and reaction.
Is there a satisfaction,
Or suffering in disgust?
If you must,
Contemplate the decisions you have made.
Are you content in your grave
Or distraught in your amazement?
So many questions
With even fewer solutions.
Find the answers in the stars,
Alongside evolution.
A powerful movement,
Starts with a crowd of one.
You’re that one,
That has just begun,
The Whole New Cycle.

A Gemini
Tyler James Oct 2014
A Gemini* talks about their lives,
all of their wrongs yet none of their rights.
Done well so far, have made a few mistakes.
Life is great, but nowhere near perfect.
You must prove to God that you truly deserve it.
Once when you earn it, you’ll love what you got.
Start to focus on what you’re not.
Give it all you got until you have no more,
that’s when you’ll find your strength that you have in store.
Conquer your fears, and realize your dreams.
Begin to work hard and minimize your schemes.
Then you’ll have the power of Kings and Queens.
Be wary what you wish for, because when it comes true.
You don’t want it to back stab you splitting you in two.
Good vs. Evil; Angels vs. Demons.
Be up in Heaven singing or down in Hell screaming.
Choose your path wisely and just chase your heart.
When it comes to end, I can’t meet you at the start.

The Lion or the Sheep
Tyler James Oct 2014
Ask yourself, are you The Lion or the Sheep?
You call yourself the King of the Jungle,
However, the jungle is not your resting place.
Is that not ironic?

If home is not a home,
Than it is as empty as the grassy fields you roam.
A Sheep knows its role – to feed be fed upon.
Yet, a Lion hunts less then he lets on.
Humility is scarce, far more than his prey.
A predator should be humble or next to nothing he’ll lay.
At the top of the food chain links can still be broken
If too much pride is spoken, it’ll leave messages unheard.
Your strengths are dependent on the perception of others.
Brothers are among you,
Your choice is to follow or lead.
The Hunter or the Hunted,
*The Lion or the Sheep.

Food for thought
Tyler James Oct 2014
If you are what you eat, are you also what you think?
Does what fill your body with out weigh what you fill your mind with?

Now that’s food for thought,
That you ought to consume.

Tree of Life
Tyler James Oct 2014
A Tree of Life with roots of evil will die in the storm,
before it’s ever born.
The sun will be its father, and it will be raised by mother earth.
If it soaks up knowledge it will survive its birth.
Sprouting ideas while growing its spirit.
There’s a whisper in the wind... be quiet and you can hear it.
Doesn’t need to fear it, when the weather gets cloudy.
It knows its true colors and reveals them proudly.
It cannot be not shy, because when it looks around.
It realizes every other tree is similar,
Just different branches in the ground all waiting to be found.
Discovered and loved; nourished by nature.
It realizes its reflection is its only true stranger.
Covered with bark so you cannot see the inner.
Shadowed by the dark, transforms to a sinner.
A stump at worst, and a home at best.
Too much is in between to explain the rest.
Now let it be known, when the red leaf falls,
It’s the end of a season for no apparent reason.
Time to change its ways; it won’t take a few days.
Give it time to mature to reach its full potential.
It sounds so simple, yet gets complicated.
When it timbers down, something new is created.
It went from a seed to sprout, conquered any drought.
Now with a shout of thunder, it just can’t help to wonder.
"Why am I here, and what is my purpose?"
But if it received the answer, would life really be worth it?
