Did the sun forget to shine,
Down on this barren earth?
For I see none of that greener grass anywhere,
See no place with worth.

Did the rain forget to fall,
Down to pass through our drying lips?
For now our words come out like sandpaper,
Cutting each other to slits.

Did the stars forget to glow,
And fill the darkness with their light?
For we all walk around with empty dreams,
And there's no wishing happening at night.

Did the wind forget to whisper,
It's softly spoken melody?
For our hearts seem to have forgotten,
The feeling of it's silent beauty.

Oh, what happened to that life,
That danced inside our skin,
That made us want to laugh,
That made us want to live?

there must be a place where broken words go
the ones without a limb
not fully formed
not spoken right
not heard

there must be a place where broken words go
the sentences left uncompleted
the trailing words that never left the lips
the "but" and the "and"
that were always left hanging

somewhere between silence and speech
there must be a place where broken words go
full of stutters and writers block sufferers
somewhere between the "i love"
and the "you" that never followed
or the "wait"
that was whispered into the air
the "please come back"
that made peace with dying
on the corners of a turning mouth

there must be a place where broken words go
the words spoken but never heard
the letters written but never posted
the train of thought that crashed into the clouds
the words in the bottle that traveled the sea
but sunk to the bottom before it could ever reach

there must be a place where my broken words go
the stains on my diary that didn't come from a pen
and the letters on my thighs that don't make sense
the things i could never say
and the things i said that came out all wrong
all the broken alphabets in my song
that cry for salvation
for one more chance

there must be a place where broken words go
there must be a place i can call home.
I sit upon a throne of thorns, wearing a starry crown that isn't mine. Yet I am not unearthly, feminin or divine.

Time likes to trick us, age unfolds turning memory askew. Gold rings that held no meaning, just the absence of you.

I made a declaration to my people, banned this thing they call love. I pulled Cupid from the sky, so he could no longer betray us from above.

I've ruled a kingdom with no king, I've destroyed in ruins end. I cast a match with neglect, causing damage to vast to mend.

Whispered warnings no one would hear, Gypsys predicted this fate that's  cursed. Take the warnings that they heed, and listen to The Empress Reversed.
When you sit and stare at people,
As they go throughout their daily tasks,
Do you ever happen to wonder,
If the expression their wearing is a mask?
As they walk right on past you,
A smile drawn across their face,
Do you ever think that maybe,
In this world they actually feel out of place?
And when a mother catchers her child being reckless,
You watch as she speaks to him with fury,
Do you mentally chide her instantly, or wonder that if maybe,
That's her way she handles worry?
When a little girl of six,
Sits alone, watching everyone else,
Do you think that she is sad,
Or maybe that she just prefers to by herself?
So many times, so many cases,
We believe our own interpretation,
That our eyes and ears have sought the truth,
But then we learn, often too late, that they'd gathered misinformation.
Oh, all the countless times we see things,
And deem them to mean something of no such,
You would think the we would eventually learn,
Not to so quickly judge.
Often as humans, we see something and instantly make some conclusion as to what it means. That doesn't make it accurate, though. What we think we know can be completely different as to what it really is. However, I don't think we sometimes realize that. Sometimes we judge too quickly, too harshly, and it can often cause more harm than good.
i see poems in my dreams
but i can't write them.

i'm haunted by demons in my head
but i can't fight them.

i've done wrongs in my past
but i can't right them.

so many dark paths to wander down
but i can't light them.

so many bright futures ahead
but i can't sight them.
