The milk coffee skies of Paris in May,
make the Seine river look insanely gray.

At sunrise it’s quiet -
the traffic’s mostly bikes
our digs are luxurious and private
my school stress is waning - it’s nice

I want to get up sigh
I don’t want to get up,
We’ll vote on it later -
I think it’s a tossup.

What will today bring?
More thunderstorms and kisses?
grin I hope so.

I pull the covers up.
Peter stretches and asks,
“what are you doing?”

I chuckle, and say,
“Come and find me,”
when he does,
Paris is fun in May

i wake up
distressed,
unable to
shake the
fear away
that lingers
in my head,
but i don’t
face the
nightmare,
I just lay
in bed.

Thinking about the future
makes me want to stay
in bed all day,
pretend that I don’t have to
get up and face the world,
yet the facts are drawn on
the ceiling of my bedroom.

Dog
My own dog has a monkey on its back
A be free jones
Don't want the bars and walls
Of this job that job
Golden walls   warm walls   comfortable
         fulfilling   beautiful   healthy walls
For some
But not my dog
A mongrel mutt sleepin under the stars
Travelin always
Different a glittering tingle in the mind
Smelling like buddha
Tasting like jesus
Feeling like mohammed
Journeying heaven
Stopping death
My dogs gotta be
It's own dog
