I wonder
Why darkness creeps in so quickly each day
but times change
And time changes
So when the light seems to leave an hour early
I must remind myself
this darkness is just a nudge
a hint
perhaps a warning
That you must rest
For longer days will come when you will need your strength
And in those long, sweaty days of summer
I will think back to when the sun told me to go home
because even the shortest day
Was long enough

.
There is poetry in the light
Of the afterwards -
The perfect glow
When ugly scars are blurred
And words
Reach new locution
Despite our dissolution
You rest your head on my lap
and weep until your tears
become our kisses
and our solace
wet with promise
Of kinder years.

One day
Ink will refuse
To write about
You
As it doesn't
Pretend

And that day is
Today
Genre: Dark Abstract
Theme: Echoes
Author's Note: How to restrict a thought?
When tired give it a rest, don't be too harsh on yourself.
You will get things done in time, never sacrifice your health.
Health is wealth.
And for a moment
I want to rest
Throw up everything in my mind-
Joy, pain, worries of tomorrow, stories
of yesterday...
And... for a moment
Feel absolute nothing!

Life is hard indeed!
And maybe I'm just tired;
A feather too, might now seem
heavy

And hence let me
rest for a moment,

Ma, will you make my bed please.

Rain befalls the afternoon like a heavy blanket
A blanket under which I rest
Legs crossed and crossed and crossed
Neck curved as a comma,
The smallest body you have seen

Nothing is mine
My arms, my hands, my head
The water that falls
Lands on nothing that belongs

Nothing is ours
The sky, the ground, the air
Skin becomes wet
Skin and water with no owner
This poem is about feelings of depersonalisation and derealisation, as well as discomfort in one's own body.

oftentimes we think
that just because we’re not swimming,
we’d stopped moving.
drowning.
overwhelmed by the vastness of the sea
oftentimes we forget
that we are allowed to just float,
be thankful for the skies
and let the wind do its job
to take us to the shore
taking my time
facing the skies

My body aches - beating my brain, I yearn for rest.
The work needs done. I cannot sleep until I rest.

That sleep - that nodding off that interrupts the song
while silence plays; a long fermata on a rest.

Awake and you’ll be deaf to what you’ve missed,
but open your ears and you’ll appreciate the rest.

I wish we could be present while we slept,
so we never had to miss a single click of rest,

until the very end. When the players play their loudest
even if they’re resting, a long eternal rest.

For the music doesn’t start until you’ve given
pause— to the contents of your mind. Let yourself rest,

and listen to the universe and its crashing chords;
echoing in that quietness, speaking through that rest.

And as I ache, I, Tyler, look towards playing that final
performance – one that’s sure to give me rest.

In the quiet, loving arms of the father who's breast
Beats with the heart that so lovingly made us
A peaceful lull in a sun-touched valley is his love
That will provide us with comfort, quiet, and rest
Christ is king. Rest in his love.
