Layers and layers and layers
of people, cars, buildings
the Big Apple
one giant parfait
loved by the rich
too expensive for the poor
a little for a lot
and the waiter smiles
fake and shallow
as he hands them the dessert
without them knowing he spat into it
and sprinkled it with the dust
of his bombed apartment on 64th
which lies in the past of another
bank
another office
another yoga oasis
another Apple parfait
for the rich
Jimmy Aldaoud was deported
He was American to the bone
He never set foot in Iraq
Arrived here at six months old

Jimmy was born in Greece
And Michigan was his home
He was very good at Chess
His health problems were known

Diabetes and schizophrenia
Is what Jimmy battled most
ICE showed up one day
And took him from his home

Jimmy was sent to Iraq
ICE said he had to go
They threw him on a plane
He landed in Baghdad alone

He was living on the streets
Jimmy didn't know a soul
He couldn't get anything to eat
His insulin was dangerously low

'I don't understand the language.
I don't understand the money.
I don't understand the street.'
Jimmy said in desperate worry

Jimmy couldn't speak Arabic
And he had nowhere to go
Someone found his body
He died in Baghdad all alone

Jimmy Aldaoud was fourty-one
He died in a place he didn't know
ICE just sent him to his death
This administration has no soul

Jimmy didn't have to die
In a far off land he didn't know
Today he would still be alive
America was his only home

'Donald J Trump is responsible for his death.'
- Andy Levin, U.S. congressman

Ammerikkka we're appealing
To your truest heart
The Conscious,
A revolution is infolding

Your land is
Is cold full of hatred
War on the minority
Masses walking for
Real freedom
We aren't savages
We rewriting the
True story.

All is One
As the Sun rises
In our lives
The Soul of a
People desperate
For all to Hear
Our cries
Watching and
Waiting on God
"GoTell it on the
Mountain" like
Baldwin said
We've articulated our position
As the Victim
Time for
Love's Vaccination
Into your greed filled veins
Our skin is not a sin.

We done Historiography
Lie and tell us to our
Faces we're less than
God's own Kings and Queens
Royalty runs throughout
Our D.N.A.
The imprint of
The Source Almighty
Masculine and Feminine
9 to the Ether
With No substitution.

Our Story is unfolding
All Life is Matter
Carbon copyright of Righteousness
Factors of dark and light
Star dust to Universal matter
Cutting thru your dogmatic
Chatter of divisions and classes
With clear lenses gazing into
The future Human
Evolution.

Gaia is our home
mother to All
Hatred in Amerikkka no longer
It's called Love's Patience
Sending racism to the depth of
Hell
While we Raise Heaven
As above so below
Thy Will Be Done
Above and beyond false
Religious and Political
Agendas.

Question why you're separated
Contaminated systems
The water is filthy like
Amerikkkas violence and lies
Who's God is Lady Liberty
Really trusting
Rothschild or Builder burghs?

Feeding us brain washed
Religion with pimps
As the preachers
I gotta pay for my
Salvation Again
And Again with my
Soul and skin?
That's double jeopardy
That's twice you've
Tried
"We the People".

Ammerikkka you
Enslaved us but we
Forgave you Gracefully
Building all your
Edifices
Even faithfully  tithing taxes
Exploited by Capitalism's ism's
Like regentrification
Let's not forget
You created reservations and
Ghetto Slums and
"The War on Drugs"

Still consider my bloodline
Unworthy of a Promise

We are not *******
We're Philosophers
Still writing Emerald Tablets
For our children's children
Children Children
Prayers form Pyramids
We're setting out
To make living Legacies
Can't Erase Obama
Out of History
Time to pay up
No more insufficient funds
From the Founding
Father's Constitution
King said it
Poetry demands it
We fact check you
Americkkka
Because we dream
And still have
Hope in
Your Faithful Promises
To Be
"America",
"Home of Brave
Land of The Free"

Black Lives do Matter
The times have seemed to change
We want all material things
Whatever happened to Love?

Work so much the days to fly by
Making Less money to buy, buy, buy
Whatever happened to a living wage?

The times have seemed to change
Keep stepping on those in your way
Whatever happened to conscience?

The rich keep getting richer
The poor keep getting poorer
Whatever happened to Washington?

The times continue to disintegrate
Rich politicians keep breeding hate
Whatever happened to peace?

Keeping children locked up in cages
Out on the streets the animosity rages
What happened to love thy neighbor?

The one percent makes the laws
Why can congress break them all?
Whatever happened to consequences?

The times have really changed
Lawmakers don't care about anything
Whatever happened to love?

i want to be a...

republican because i am a
democrat.

i want to be a democrat
because i am a republican.
Today is a good day.
A glorious ship sets sail,
Robust engines begin to fire.
A billowing cloud marks their trail
Whisking along, climbing higher.
Soon to find they’re moving frail,
Over-capacity, the engines tire.
Panic… passengers want to bail
Before the ships fatigue is dire.
“The ships too big to fail”,
Assured the disguised liar
Over the radio in a voice so stale,
He sold the tickets to every buyer.
Acting like there’s no need to worry
The crew continues out to sea,
News on board spreads in a hurry,
The passengers whisper quietly.
The crewman shouting, “all aboard!”,
They look around, only to see,
Transport of the vaulted horde
As their count exceeds capacity.
For profit loomed so temptingly,
Blighted the soul in greedy begrime,
Of that owner who sits at home,
The culprit in this unwatched crime
As the magistrate declared he’s free to roam.
Back on the ship, the haul is flooding,
So abrupt, they had no time.
Sinking further to the depths and sure to drown,
They let out a last and desperate horn to chime,
As water rising—muffled the sound.
“We’ll do everything we can!”,
Exclaims the man who’s pockets lined,
Pays off investigators to seal his plan,
A freak accident without blame to find,
Invisible strings puppeteer,
The death of thousands into happenstance,
Foul play at the hands of a financier,
Onto his next venture without a second glance.
Perhaps one day a corrected fate
Will rise in the eyes of history,
And right the legacy of our current state,
Shedding light on the darkness of the shadow of inequality.
Keep Rambling On
Carlo C Gomez Dec 2019
Say it now
Before the verbal amputation
And issue of an apology for
Three little words
Expressed from the heart
Given freely
Never to take back

But a world around us
Scrutinizes our every move
Smacking on the hand
When we've done the unthinkable
And said something
Against their liking

Take it on the chin
Take it in the eye
They can't keep us
From how we truly feel
Robert Ippaso Dec 2019
I wielded my sword
And slayed the foul dragon,
Then crammed the vile beast
Right back in his flagon.

Pickled and sodden
There will he lie
Few to remember
Fewer to cry.

Obnoxious his deeds,
Destructive his breath,
His venom pervasive,
So glad for his death.

Now we can harness
Our thoughts and our prayers,
Be kind and productive
Not just dragon slayers.

This noble island
This hallowed soil,
So very much more
Than one man’s spoil.

Let the healing commence,
Work as one to achieve,
A country in which
We all so believe.

A land of invention,
Of Shakespeare and Keats,
Of boundless endeavor,
Whose heart strongly beats.
