laughter embroidered in gold,
smiles embossed in bronze,
tears dripping with diamonds and
amber eyes in emerald faces that see a glittering world;

a gentle silvery touch of hands,
glassy fumbling fingers,
ruby cheeks and marble hearts and
amber glistening in sunlight and darkness;

glittering light on a glass finger,
clasping hands in a burst of silver,
gold and bronze and diamonds all around and
running off into a slippery citrine sunset;

a final touch of silver,,,
tying the knot on golden thread,,
bronze glinting through diamond droplets, and
emerald bodies returned to the waiting earth.

but amber immortalizes every golden thread,
every glint of bronze, every diamond,
everything that has been, everything that will be-
every single piece of the human experience.
precious, valuable, unique. am i describing the human experience or gemstones?

Walking through the memories of mindlessness
Attempting to see what has been and not what will be
This is the understanding and awareness of historical events
Is this experience worthy of our amazement and discovery

Of course
We have to see what has been to prepare for what is yet to come...

Are you anxious or excited?
Perception tricks
same headspace ticks
Stretch beyond the point of comfort
fearful of the pain it brings
Persist the test through fight or flight
response is timed
Allow for growth
gain knowledge and engage
With experience we evolve

Two Roads diverged in the woods and I
I took the one most traveled by
The journey was quite strange
As if almost every step I take creates a big bang
The road was full of holes and people collecting tolls
Around halfway down the path, I was stopped by a line
And when I looked at the ones ahead of me they appeared to be blind
As time went by I started to shiver from the cold
I felt anxious and tried to move but my body began to take mold
When I finally broke free, I ran as far as I could
with hopes of getting back to the start, I ended up more lost in the woods
After a while the pain began to fade, so I sat there in shame
But yet no one came, so I made peace and accepted that this is the where I stay
Two roads diverged in the woods and I
Well, I wish I would've have took the road less traveled by

I don’t want to put off living
And I don’t want to put off experience
I want to have everything life can give me
Be everything I can be
And I’m real sorry you don’t know the difference
Between being alive and simply existing
Hide these thoughts behind worthless rhymes
They say a coward dies many times
So you keep your eyes straight ahead
I want to die only when I’m dead
To die once is enough
