take them,
drink them,
swallow them,
just to
ease and ****
the aching pain.
it's dumb poem.

There once was a boy, who met a girl, saw her smile.
So every once in a while,
when he pictures her crooked smile,
it still makes him smile.

Apparently, I've been wearing that pathetic face again.
Am I truly expected to pretend that nothing happened between us?
And as I roll around this peaceful city, I look a little closer and see
I see a small world, I see the people broken and mended
I see a world that has lost it's meaning and thrown it's sacred words away
I know you're out there, and close by too
I think I want you back but, then again
that may just be me being crazy all over again.
My words go into the microphone but
they fail to enter the ears of all those who pretend to listen
for they are too busy wasting air, talking about themselves
which gives me a reason no to listen to a word they say.
Though the world may change and people will leave
I'll be moving around and hopefully, moving on
But I'll still be me and have my close brothers
So, as sorrow and joy flow down like rain
and my thoughts meander, tumble, and leave confusion
I can say, with the utmost ease I've ever had;
"Nothing's gonna change my world!"
(Base off of the song Across the Universe by The Beatles)
Across the Universe is probably one of my favorite Beatles songs. My Dad dissed it and I wanted to write about it. I make a few references here. "Apparently, I've been wearing that pathetic face again" is a reference to someone earlier this week telling me that I look sad even though I've been okay recently. "I think I want you back but, then again, that may just be me being crazy all over again" is a reference to my ex that I want to be friends with again.

I haven't known her for a really long time,
But I can already tell:
She likes the subtle things.
The things that people don't usually acknowledge.
The smile, the laugh,
The kisses and the hugs.
I can just tell...

She has bright blonde hair that matches her personality.
She wears clothes that reflect her soul; relaxed.
And she has a laugh that is powered by her heart; it's amazing.

You see,
I can write about how the sunset is so beautiful with all of the colors mixing together like a fresh oil painting.
But I'd rather talk about her.
Because honestly, she takes my breath away.
I don't have to say much, I just have to look into her eyes,
And I know that things will be okay.
They just have to be...

Again, I haven't known her for a really long time.
But I can tell she likes the subtle things.

She is a double dare
Laughing like the air in the room was running low
Eyes like the open road
With hints of a sharp s turn ahead
She said sometimes you have to be spontaneous
She said why don't you?
Waiting in the dark trying to break through the blur of the squint
As faces passed by like mile markers
A hurricane of zebra print sorority crap
I didn't mind dry in the safe eye
Gasping in silence
Eyes closed tight
Nails on flesh
Screeching against the edge
Bedrock shifting in vibrations
As the world carried on outside
Careless but anything other than apathetic
Fire fighting off the inevitable dark
Beating drums
Peace against a chaos of war
And when it was all over
And sleep crept in
I woke up feeling renewed
More than a human being
