Lets get drunk and pretend were in love
So when we wake up lonely tomorrow
We will at least have a sweet memory
Of what never was

Beer for breakfast
Liquor for lunch
Drunk by dinner
Out by 1

Red face, shaky hands
Too many screwdrivers
Can throw a wrench into the best of plans
It’ll take a lot to fix this mechanic
But with a little elbow grease
And something to eat
He’ll be running like new
Just you see

She makes small talk feel like a TED talk
She makes me feel like I know nothing at all
She’s too smart for me
I stumble when I speak
I’m drunk driving through this conversation
She is an agnostic angel
I’m a whiskey priest
But I only wanna get drunk off what she can teach
And I don’t know if she cares about how I preach
A lesson in pseudoscience in her backseat
Leaves us in an afterglow of creative problem solving

We agree to disagree

Oh hello moon we meet again
As I sway in your spotlight
Walking down the streets
Kicking cigarettes down onto the road
From the **** end of my last joke.
Neon lights bleed off my face
I do a double take from someone smells like Spearmint
And looks just like you.
I bit my tongue and closed my heart
As I hope that my feelings for you die.
Like a broken clock it still haunts me with my past time.
As I continue to stumble home
Thinking how you hate the name Dina.

im drunk writing a poem for you
honesty rolling off my tongue and mind
as i speak and write about you.

im drunk writing a poem about you
everything's a blur, nothing is pellucid
but its clear—so clear, i love you.

im sober writing a poem about you
nothing has ever changed
i love you still.

i can smell the cigarette on my finger
it reminds me of you
the way we smoked at that night
and talked about your dreams and future
we almost kissed under the stars
the sky and my feelings were so clear
i want to feel that again
what do you think about that?
what did you feel?
do you have feelings for me?
i wish i could read in your mind
because honey, i am here for you

we are sitting on the riverside
we smoke cigarettes
the smell still reminds me of you
your smile brings back so many memories
your septum piercing is kinda oblique
i want to touch it while we kissing
that’s not much to ask
you probably taste like red wine and marlboro
i wish we would did this earlier
the background music has changed
some current joys playing on your phone
remember darling, we danced to that song
but if you don’t remember anything
i can tell you what we did
while we were drunk
