Chaos and free,
judged are we who don’t conform
to your views of reality.

With society’s broken ideology.

A pretty face in a magazine,
stitched together with fake
believes, judged for not being
pretty enough,
Photoshop can’t fix me.

Oddly enough you think I am
odd because you don’t see like me.

My mind you say is broke
because I don’t think like you.
You act like everyone should be
the same,
if one goes off frame,
their judged for not sticking
to your guns and your filming rules.
Are no joke.

Such hatred you reflect,
yet you won’t admit you are
the ugly and bad,
not me.
You make me choke.

Ideology.

My Baby:
Don't be too quiet yet don't be too shrill,
Don't be too restless, but neither too still,
Please grow up hardy, yet soft to the touch,
Not seeking too little, nor asking too much.

Years later …

My Child:
Don't be precocious, yet don't be too shy,
The middle-sized apple of you father’s eye,
Don't be too forthright, nor keep to yourself,
Don't be too daring; but care for your health.

Years later …

My Son:
Don't aim too high, nor get stuck in a hole,
Nor hang back if offered an uninspired role,
Please don't take the high road or even the low,
The main road is best ... not too fast or too slow.

Years later …

My Epitaph:
Here lies a man, who knew how to conform,
Who never left harbour, for fear of a storm,
Avoiding the hot and the cold for lukewarm,
In loving, but not too loving, memory,
Of your only son ... Norm.
Being tooo cautious in life and conforming too much to the norm, can be a bad thing!

I thought
Pipe-fed freedoms
Would stay at bay
Behind minds fretting needlessly
Then I was told to buy a lottery ticket

I supposed
My wasted wants
Would keep in my sleep
Beneath griefs of weakness I'd never possess
Then I discovered I'm one more normal mind

I believed
'My' graceful gods
Were lame in their frame
Below fallow understandings in flaking canvases
Then I was told what to believe

I refused
And was suddenly different
Shown the ropes of a living wage
Pariah,
Burned alive
until I was so different
I was marketable
People came to me
And suddenly I was someone
Suddenly I was understandable
Like never I was as one of dissonance within -
One of picture frames without, the label
'Vive le différence,
Ici ça meurt'.
Ok, so I google translated the French, a cardinal sin, I know, but I had no choice :(

I didn't think
it would be
like this
wandering waiting
pacing and impatiently stating
I'm not supposed to be here.

My hands
stopped trembling
years ago.
Separated
from the rest
Its for the best
they say
as they force the pills
down every day
I'm not supposed to be here.

Every word
confirms
my inability to conform
Imprisoned physically
for in-dependency
my mind
does not need
societies'
hypocritical parasitical
way of thought.
*I'm not supposed to be here.

Command or conform,
You don't have a choice,
For that's the way of the world.

Lead the pack
Or be the pack;
Your mind laying dormant and furled.

You'll be governed by strict rules,
But no, think for yourself:
Do the good, fight the evil,
Put your life on a shelf.

For when people say follow your dreams,
They don't really mean follow
It's a masquerade for co-align with us
Or we'll leave you dry and hollow

If you lead,
You're honourable, worthy,
But only for a while;
For if you infringe the decisions of the pack,
They'll watch your ousting with a smile.

But that is the law of the land,
The way the world works.
If you follow, you're weak
But if you lead, it hurts.

Hello child, beautiful child
Don’t be scared to cry just stay true to that smile
They’ll kiss you and they’ll dress you, then you’re through to the wild
Crawl. Walk. Run, fast. You’ll run for a while

Run 'till you meet your wits and you’ll gain a couple witnesses
They’ll shoot you, they won’t miss you. It’s actually ridiculous
They’ll take your wallet for a gun and then ask you who did this
Money runs the world child, welcome to the business

Get your tie on, they’ll get it tight on
The noose is fitting right on
They fed you every bait and all you had to do was bite on
Dear child, stay in the wrong. You’re better off an icon
