Silent Sanctuary Apr 2015
Hundreds of words left unsaid,
Between parting lovers' morose cries and hatred.
Silently mourning over cheery times spent together,
In a once upon a time hoping for forever.

Hundreds of miles away,
For both to forget every pain felt on that day.
When neither were happy and words said were nothing but harsh.
Yet despite the distance both still feel like they're on the same marsh.

Hundreds of chances given by fate,
But either were too hesitant to approach the other, and now it's too late.
Both wanted to give out a proper goodbye,
Yet again, they let fear rule their hearts and left the chance to fly.

Hundreds of years to move on,
But when one hears the name of the past lover, tears will be let on.
Because no matter what happened,
They once both loved one another  and that will never be forgotten.

Hundreds of poems written for one another,*
Yet neither knows about them meaning for each other.
For they are now strangers with remarkable memories,
In silent calm hours cherishing and reminiscing reveries.

I talk myself in
I talk myself out

I pine
And I pause
And I hesitate

Hem-
Haw

Stumped by
Indecision

Fascinated
By you

Brain whizzing
Heart swooning

The duality of
Harsh critic
And romantic youth

Practicality tempers
The foolish hopes
Of the dreamer

They duel out
My insecurities
And reshape
My aspirations
Slicing away the cravenness
That covers my desires

Now
Daring is comfort
And Chance is worth the
Risk of Happiness

Hello lover.

Her doorway holds the way between
His hand and the heart he spilled
About faith
Lean against the walls in time
All in wait for her reply
Something meaningful to help return the hurt
They speak about the their world in turns
Sudden break within the boundary
Of the levees of her closed and drying tears
Opens the doorway
With brighter eyes; Return

The time slows by
And earth shall not cease to turn

Against the wall
Light shadows mood
In lieu of promises no one sure to keep
He’s not a liar, so he thought
He holds on painfully a bit too tight
She’s crushed within a comforted grip
Her eyes no longer separate between the lives
Seen reasonable or rational
To believe his words today
And the coming days with smile and a tear

The time slows by
And earth shall not cease to turn
Spinning silently when nothing’s right
Leaving hesitantly when nothing’s wrong

The doorway holds two worlds between
Closed eyes and the shudders of their dreams
Memories in reverse repetition, slowed

Her heart stopped beating. "Heartless" you said to her
How can she ignore your attention? How dare her forget that night?
When everything seemed real, when all she ever wanted was right in front of her, standing under the cold rain
That night when you broke the other girl's heart, that night when you chose her as your other half

She could not recall the moment when she stopped loving, hating or anything.
One day she just learned that she did not have any emotions at all. You started to question her why, when and how, but there was no answer from her
You heard nothing but a silent whisper, like a crisp yet tender break of the heart, a sound that nobody even knows.

One day she woke up with tears on her shoulder and it was you, waiting patiently beside her
You asked her if she still loved you, even a little even if you sounded like a fool
She shook her head and said
"I have loved you long before, I just need you to be more patient with me so I can love you once more."

They say that
once you've grown up,
you're going to make
A LOT
of
Mistakes

Then,
I ask you,
Have you done
any mistakes?
Mistakes that are worth
of many dreams
you wished to pursue,
but then
crushed by any of our
idiotic decisions?

I tell you,
my dear beloved heart,
you're right.

It was idiotic,
shameful
but dear heart,
you
are
still
beautiful.

Regrets
are just chances
you took
and see it
as if
it was a huge
mistake.

Dear heart,
where are you now?

You've gone through enough.

And now,
you can be
the wingless angel
that few can adore.

Or,
you can be
a hornless demon
that everyone cursed for.

And so one step, the breeze goes by
White is the sand, cerulean is the sky;
Trees do sway, birds like hum
Warm is the sun, cool is the night

A walk to your plane, alone and alive
Footprints on the sand, path I arrived;
Clock strikes four, never once bored
Standing in a million, buried in a zillion

Nothing is new, waited so long
Traveled so far, wasted no more;
Ocean so big, no way to own
Just a place, but never a home

Looking beyond, I saw the side
Where beauty is hidden, inside and out;
Glimpse of a chance, a boat is near
Escaping from paradise, a rescue from tears

Bag is full, shells of few
Shared with you, a thousand new;
And there I breathe a flowing air
A jasmine scent, a calming felt

Home is here, bells I hear
Time is back like a New Year strike;
There I see sparkles of light
Never too tired, lingered in might

Shined so bright, marred is the eye
Chances is blank, crisis is high;
Twice a paradise, almost a rewind
But never again, never again …
Dedicated to two.

The mistake I made
was not what I had always believed it to be -
nor what you believed me to be

It was all just smoke and mirrors
An act of endless defiance
with games no one knew they were playing

The error was not in our ways
It was in the question - or questions
I had forgotten how to ask

Life broke me down and
shaped me into being the clone
I never wanted to be -

She was the train you missed by a second
You look longingly at her direction long after she was gone

She was the coffee that spilt before you could take a sip
The scent of her and the stain on the carpet remains to remind you of what you lost

She was the flower you planted that withered before it bloomed
You are always left wondering how beautiful your life would have been with her around

She was the card you didn't call when you had a strong hunch that you could have won
She was the chance you didn't take

If you had only rushed to meet her...
If you had only handled her right...
If you had only given her more attention...
If you had only been more brave...

Last time I wrote a poem
To grieve with my broken heart
I thought I'd give up and surrender
All my desires, fantasies, and feelings

But there came hope amidst
The dark nights of restless dreams
I thought of you--of us
How we can never be

A silver lining places itself
Catching the corner of my eye
It says light up the world--own it
It's your time to shine

I caught a glimpse of wide-eyed perfection
He flashes a smile to me
Utters a string of syllables, a whisper
"Can you be the one for me?"
For when I was about to give up, there came hope

You can’t have my body
If I can’t have your soul
For I want somebody to hold
A heart to warm me when I am cold
Not a connection only skin deep
I want you in me
Just not in that way
I need someone in me
But someone who is here to stay
I’m not just a one night stand
I’ll tell you right up front
But I will be with you for longer
If commitment is what you want
Getting attached is far too easy
And I can’t stay whole
If I give pieces of my heart away
Only for you to soon part ways
So I’m making an offer
It’s here standing tall
If you want a chance to love me
Please give it your all
