You will get lost in the big city
you WILL, too hard, you WON'T, too much
the secret to a long life is keep breathing and a pulse pounding
you will seek riches and find pity
you will find a garden of riches yet turn it too mulch
you will marry an attentive spouse if you don't mind the hounding

the secrets of the moment are lost in the blink of both eyes,
the secret of receiving is an open palm
if you touch the swollen belly of a bull, and you find ardor
you can find beauty everywhere do not despise the disguise
a secret a flock of birds leaves behind is calm ( bird **** is a secretion not a secret)
the secret to great wealth is found offshore

you will go places reading without, leaving your seat
here is to laughter
hope you smiled
well at least tell me you didn't cry

Their nails, click and clack on concrete and asphalt,
around the block away we go, traffic brings the wind
at face and fur, and sprinkles dust in our eyes.

Then, we get to the quieter side streets, shadows
deep as the Sun is low, but on the rise, rabbit
shapes look like grass clumps, lumps of brown
that hop quickly away and into the long sharp blades
of grass without a scream.

Small birds, flit and flap their wings, tempting a
game of "chase me" away from the nest into the
brambles, but both dogs are on leashes, and can't
go further, than their collars will let them.

Daily, street people , begin to move if they hard bed-
ded down for the night, the hospital gets ready for the
change in shifts, coffee shops open their locks , to
pour artificial sunshine into cups, if you don't like
it black, add milk or cream.

I need a vacation right now.

It is your doing, April.
Your clarity pulls me
to the fields
where grass is wet-
my eyes fix on
pulsing of color in flowers
blooming.
It is April's doing.

Writing
No Other Book
My Name is Art and I Am,
Bicycle Diaries,
The Book of Myself,

The Book Thief
and 7 Minutes With God.
Titles from my shelf - spine book poetry, see here's the thing, do not ask if I have read every one of these or the many others, my answer would make both of us cry

The leaves are fresh after the rain,
The air is cool and clear,
The sun is shining warm again,
The sparrows hopping in the lane
Are brisk and full of cheer.

And that is why we dance and play,
And that is why we sing,
Calling out in voices gay,
We will not go to school to-day
Or learn anything:

It is a happy thing, I say,
To be alive on such a day.

The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shawl and woodland bowers
The cuckoo through the April rain
Calls once again."

I love April showers.

As yesterday came to an end
I thought I had some time to spend
Then i opened my plans
To see where I stand
I'm booked until April's month ends
The moral: never look more than two weeks ahead in the springtime.

WHAT DO YOU GET IF YOU CROSS A ******
WITH AN ESKIMO? ANSWER: YOU GET A MASSIVE
VASSAL WITH A PASSIVE TASSEL AND A FRIGID
****** WITH WITH A RIGID DIGIT. COLD COMFORT.

DO YOU LIKE IT IN CIDER? THERE WAS A BIG
BLACK HAIRY SPIDER WHICH CHASED JUSTIN G.,
DON'T YOU SEE THAT'S SO COOL - SO APRIL FOOL!
OF THE NILE A JEWEL, NOW I'LL DROOL AT YOUR POOL.

I MUST BE EMOTIONALLY OFF COURSE, OF COURSE
IT'S NICE TO EXPAND YOUR HORIZON, PUT EYES ON
DIFFERENT THINGS, DIG INTO WHAT'S BENEATH, YOU
MAY NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT'S ABOVE YOU UNTIL
SOMEBODY SAYS THAT THEY LOVE YOU.

LET'S HAVE SOME NO SADNESS, LOTS OF GLADNESS
EVEN THO' THERE MAY BE **** IN MY MADNESS.

Easy on the Emo
It's NaPoWriMo
Cut fellow poets some slack
Until April empowers
Fresh lyrical showers
And muses prepare for attack
A poem a day for April

If you take your life
I take mine too,
Because a life here on earth
isn't worth losing you.
