Find meaning in what you do
rather than what you have.

Value your experiences
because they shape who you are.

Practice patience in all things;
learn, be quiet, and listen.

Appreciate the small joys in life
because they all come to an end.

Seek to make a difference
and don’t expect recognition.

All of us will die
and all we can leave is our impact.

Everything is temporary
I don't love them for a sacrificial demise.

They love and give
They live for those who need life
They sacrifice
They fill the needs they see
every day.

Not defined by their deaths,
but by giving their whole life
A refuge, if only for a night
A place to sleep and not much more
It is an escape
A room full of dreams
Of tortured bodies and tormented souls

But in sleep there is peace
They are still

Transported to far off places
To realities that are not their own
Anywhere but here
If only for a night

This is a place to dream
Even if only for the night
We had our monsters under the bed
They kept us from the shadows of night
From peering in the closet
And walking down the hallway

Now just disguised as thoughts in our heads
They keep us from much uncertainty
From peering into our souls
And living our days with joy

But both paralyze
Steal security
And gift us sleepless nights

Fear has great power
It kills and destroys...
But only if power is granted
Who sees clearly?
It certainly isn't me.

I don't really see you,
And you will never truly see me.

Who says I see things like you do.
Do you see the same colors I see?
Is the blue I see the same as yours?

Perhaps we just learned to call them the same.
How different the world for us.
Yet we call it by the same name.
