Aeerdna
Words don't come to me anymore
silence grows deeper in my soul
the pain gets stronger and stronger.

My hopes, they turn to ashes
at the touch of my hands
I lose them, they slip through my fingers
and they're no Phoenix bird,
won't ever reborn.

Disappointment,
Failure
At every step I take.
My life,
a sinking ship.
My fears consume me day by day.

My love makes me rot inside
light burns my eyes,
music hurts my mind,
my soul is full of scars,
hopeless,
empty,
weak.

I shall die in the darkest silence.

When you're around
Someone slips down the thermostat
Plays it like a violin
Drifting a decent toward
The most poignant Minor cord.
I feel lost within myself
Like an island watching a beautiful ship
Sail by without stopping.

And yet-
You leave and it aches;
Hurts like the thud of pulse
Behind a ripening bruise...
Feels as though my heart is about to
Rend my ribs and squelch
Painfully though the cracks
To slither away in your general direction.

In your absence
I realize that simple things
Can grow into necessity.
Tiny seedlings who take root
Can somehow cross time to become
A redwood with roots so deep
The foundation of the earth is never the same
When it falls.
Air is everywhere
And yet when its gone
Beneath tidal waves
It's more precious than gold;
Riches mean nothing when you're drowning.

Chameleon
Sometimes you just need
to say ******* to the person who broke your heart.
Get mad, and dwell in it for a day or two.
Do some psychedelics and trip into another world.
Drink until you smile and are laughing and talking like a maniac.
Smoke so much **** you drive 30 mph everywhere.
Sometimes you need to get ****** up to see how not ****** up your life is.
And say ******* to anyone who says that isn't the way to solve your problems.
Clearly they've never needed to get out of their head.
Don't be afraid to go crazy.
hibernating
for two days
good morning
is at
4:30
in the afternoon.

let me hold you
while I hibernate
let me
wrap my legs
around you
become
one
with your body
our dreams
intertwining
into the same
cloud
above our heads

the same
cloud
above me
right now.
the drizzle
from our dreams
speckles
my head
the pieces of them
raining lightly
on me
as I wake myself up
with the afternoon air

let's run naked
in our dreams
soak
ourselves
in the rain
I always thought it
to be
relaxing

good morning
my poem for today
I feel as if I got punched in the face and kicked down a flight of stairs
I can feel your hate as you look down upon my face
It's evident that you don't care and that I have misinterpreted all those stares
My soul is broken, but my hope is stronger than ever
You might have treated me like a joke today
But the faith I have in myself will never fade away
It's time to pick the pieces up and start from the bottom once again

“No regrets.”

Isn’t that what the greats' vision implied before they gave everything?
The more important matter; did the dream stay through the battle-
Or did their lives end in wishes for a time machine?

“All You Need Is Love.”

Did the Beatles really mean that?
Or did they mean
“All You Need Is Drugs.

“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”*

Is that truth?
Or is the reality in the bigger picture?
Romeo and Juliet weren’t honestly star-crossed lovers.
They were name-crossed lovers.
Montagues and Capulets don’t mix.

Or…
do they*?

Expression
Dancing on your face and through your fingerprints as they touch my delicate skin; goosebumps
I can feel it when you kiss me
Expression
I see it in your big colorful eyes; I’m lost for words, lost in your eyes
I see it in your movement as we lay entangled in the linen sheets
I feel it in your hand prints and see it while I swim in your collar bones; still lost for any words
Expression – yours -- so simple, yet so complex.

I know every line on your palms
I know every curve & dip of your collar bones
I know every scar, every cut, every bruise
I know the exact shade of color in your eyes
I know the patterns of your movement -- your touch
I painted a beautiful canvas all over your soul

Then one day we broke -- fell and shattered
& now all I can say is I *knew
