Is a life free of pain; no hunger for hope,
all that it enticingly seems?
Or is there more found in victory over a noose & a rope,
That could never be by achieving the highest of dreams?

I've got no idea where my life's goin'.

But,

You do.

Rainy days have come again;
Seems that they do not have an end.
For even when the sun is shining,
I see no silky silver lining.
Even when the sky is blue,
It seems a dull and darkened hue.
Even when the birds are singing,
I hear a haunted, hollow ringing.
Through pseudo smiles; lying laughter,
No hope of, ‘happily ever after.’
Since I have pushed you far away,
The rainy days are here to stay.

The opposite of love, is indifference.
Not anger, aversion, or hate.
Accompanied by avoidant-detachment,
And a silence that never abates.

It can disguise itself in diffidence;
Depressed by misery, for score.
Sheltering who practice its persuasion,
But leaving its victim longing for more.

It looks like a promise that’s broken,
It sounds like the melody of a lie.
It tastes like a cocktail & bitters;
It feels like a passion that died.

You can’t see the damage from the outside;
The wounds that scar from within.
Until they manifest as an addiction,
Or any overt kind of sin.

Love faces the toughest of battles;
Love outshines even the sun.
Indifference regards nothing higher;
And indifference will perpetually run.

I told you I wouldn’t remember
If it was real life or a dream
And just as I predicted
Memory is ripping its own seams.

I chose you,
But you didn’t chose me.
Maybe freewill
Negates meant to be.

I’m not good with words, but,
you’re the pumpkin in my pie.
The cherry on top of my banana split;
The apple of my eye.

I’m not good with words, but
you’re the sunshine in my sky.
The heart shaped clouds all floating around;
The little blue bird flying high.

I’m not good with words but,
you’re the melody of a lullaby
The best of memories and times we’ve had;
The celebration to my Fourth of July,

I’m not good with words, but
I love you so much I could cry.
You’re the greatest father who ever lived;
And you’ll always be my guy.

“No regrets.”

Isn’t that what the greats' vision implied before they gave everything?
The more important matter; did the dream stay through the battle-
Or did their lives end in wishes for a time machine?

“All You Need Is Love.”

Did the Beatles really mean that?
Or did they mean
“All You Need Is Drugs.

“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”*

Is that truth?
Or is the reality in the bigger picture?
Romeo and Juliet weren’t honestly star-crossed lovers.
They were name-crossed lovers.
Montagues and Capulets don’t mix.

Or…
do they*?
