As I lie here
With eyes closed softly
I think deeply of you
And I inhale stars
The scent of twinkling light
So fresh and alive
Sparkling gentle inside me
And I want to write this feeling
So tentatively
As it must be
Like writing words on bubbles
Delicate and precious
Begging them not to disappear
Like dreams in the morning

                                        By Phil Roberts
This may well be my last poem here.
Why does she torment me?
Her image haunts my brain
Laying seeds of emptiness
Bringing me so much pain

Never have I met a woman
Who could get inside my veins
Soak up all the blood inside
Leaving nothing but the stains

Does she even care about me?
Like if I live or die
If she seen my body inside a casket
Would she even stop to cry?

Sometimes I stand outside alone
In the dark it starts to rain
I look to the sky and just stare
The thought of her driving me insane

How could I ever blame her?
Even though she ripped out my heart
I hate when we're together
I hate it even more when we're apart
In the dark I can find your lips
I know exactly where you are in space
You're breathing is quickening
And I'm breathing you in
I just need you everywhere
Skin on skin yet not close enough
Can you feel my heart beating for you?
I can't focus on anything except you
The way you keep looking at me
Makes me feel invincible
Can you taste the desire on my lips?
The pain in my heart
Please don't ever stop
If
If I gave you my smile
Would you give me yours
Run your finger along it
Touch your forehead to mine

If I gave you my hands
Would you give me yours
Hold them gently
Our fingers entwined

If I gave you my body
Would you give me yours
Wrap yourself around me
Till we can no longer be defined

If I gave you my heart
Would you give me yours
Love me with a passion
Of our own design

If I gave you my soul
Would you give me yours
Merge the light and dark of them
So we can't be confined

If I gave you my demons
Would you give me yours
Let them play together
In our strange minds

These are the Ifs that I ask of you...
I only hope you will answer me true.
Free your soul
Empty your mind
Dance in the rain
It is you they desire

Free your soul
Dismiss the past
The future is beaming
Help them enter at last

Free your soul
They will come and go
Don't let them stop you
It is your time to grow

Free your soul
Surrender to that sound
Let the music surround you
It will help you be found

Free your soul
It is your time to choose
No time to waste
This isn't a battle you lose

Free your soul
Let go of the pain
Your heart will thank you
Don't let is stay strained

Free your soul
You know how

Her
the moment a poet
falls in love with you

is the moment
you live

f o r e v e r
Your face slips along the wrinkles of my brain,
And my fingers trace the shape as they dance between my legs.
I sigh your name… to make you feel a little closer
But, you’re far away and you’ll never be my lover.
I’m yours to claim, but who would take something thrown away?
I’m filled with shame and I can’t scrub off these stubborn stains,
So, it’s better we stay separated by years and miles and feelings
Your words cut me deeply, imagine the wounds left by nerve endings.
I don’t need skin to feel touched by you, you writhe within
Shaped like fluttering butterflies and erupting cocoons,
Like sunrises whose colors aren’t muddied with doom.
I think I need you, I think I love you, I know I want you
Yet I don’t know what I am or how and where I stand.
I feel like I’m a void thrown to explode into your own,
Constricting and expanding inside our black holes.
Friendly words to bore you when you’re feeling alone,
Enough to occupy your mind and body, just not your soul.
