There she was.
In hiding.
Too hurt to face others.
Shattered.
The world around her fell apart.
Darkness.
God where are you?

She felt something inside.
Besides all this ugliness something else was happening.
She felt the need to live, to survive.
The light was within.
A melody in her head.
A song in her heart.
Seeping through the cracks of sorrows.
Reaching her core.

She was praying.
God, give me strength to love and trust again.
This world seems so unfair.
But am I not born for a reason?
A warm glow from within gave her light to see.
She saw handles to hold on to.
To find her way out.
And she bloomed.
Like a violet in the dark growing to the light.

People are like flowers
All in need of light and water
To bloom.

Immortality
I feel so small,
yet so do the stars,
when seen from afar,
they shine through the scars.

And now I feel better.....
He had to come back.

On a December afternoon
when the sun was more to west,
he landed on the most favorite place of his house,
the roof.

Just as he had imagined
the still winter air was abuzz with life.

Doves were pairing for a home
Green bee-eaters swooped on insects
Two herons kept following the grazing cow
Crows were busy with twigs and wires
High up beyond where paper kites could soar
Storks slow sunned their wings wet from the jhil
The cats warmed their furs before the cold night
The stray puppy gamboled with its mother.

Each piece had perfectly fitted the other
including the silently sleeping house.

He was tempted to walk down once
has she changed any little way?

He smiled to himself
then breezed away from the roof.

Earth comes out of its greenroom

I bend at the window
looking through the glass
down upon its vastness

something out there is wrong

the future's not what it used to be
a shadow tells me

I feel mysterious today
a stranger to myself
I don't recognize my voice

objects outlive us
but we are more than an accident of stars
someday we will be infinite
breaking into the distance

by serene velocity
by delicate transitions

bringing us closer
to a renewed interest in happiness

How I want to understand you
With every cell of my swarthy skin.
How I want to hug you all
Till my pulse madness! Not care of anything.

How I want to feel you in whole
In every fiber of my being.
But I'm afraid to spot one day
That you're the stranger and we have nothing.

This is a snapshot in history,
a cold day in mid December,
in the year twenty-twenty four
and civilisation is so last season.

There are three major conflicts
happening in the world today.
No! Not conflicts. Wars!
In Sudan, in Gaza, in Ukraine.
All have been eaten by savagery,
cruelty, pain and despair.
But they overshadow the others.
Stories of suffering yet to come.

In Afghanistan women have been banned
from attending college to train as midwives.
Trained midwives are forbidden to work.
There are no male midwives in Afghanistan.
Women's suffering is yet to come.

In Iraq there is a new government marriage law.
It is now perfectly legal for adult men
to wed girls as young as nine years old.
More or less legalising child abuse.
Children's suffering is yet to come.

And yet if all these wars were to stop
there will still be many more wars.
There will still be savagery and pain.
There will still be cruelty and despair.
There will still be pregnant women and pre-pubescent brides
screaming for help in the long dark nights.
And nobody will lift a finger to help.
Their suffering is yet to come.

So why are we allowing ourselves to slide,
to fall, to regress, to return to Mediaeval barbarism?
Is this our destiny?
Or is this...
Our suffering yet to come.

You never know when you're going to touch someone
You never know
A kind word or a simple line
You never know
People come and people go
Leaving treasures they never know
When you find it; let it grow
You never know
You just might touch someone
You never know
Write On! Write On! It could be a song
You never know
