I can't help but be curious of him
Of wanting to know more of him
Wanting to explore the depths of him
Wanting to know how he does what he does
The mere thought of wanting to know isn't enough to satisfy me
I want more than my thoughts and imagination conjuring up ideas
I want to feel, I want to do
Very curious indeed am I
He's on my mind

Well of course it’s dangerous,
they certainly promise it won’t be painless.
You’ll break, and crumble,
all your words will get jumbled.
Curious?
It can twist you in knots,
all while you’re still trying to connect the dots.
Hell, the happy ending isn’t even promised
and this is me being honest.
Curiouser?
There’s no way to prepare,
it’s only way is to ensnare.
But you’ll be okay with that trap,
you’ll still be trying to understand its map.
Figure it out?
This crazy thing we call love,
it’s the most twisted game you can think of.

nothing excites my soul quite like understanding people
I want to know why they do the things they do
what drives them to make the choices they make
what warms their heart
and what makes their mind cold
I want to know where they're headed
and what they came from
who they have dealt with
and when they broke down
I want to be the ears for people
ears that I never had
I want to hear what excites them
and see that destroys them
I want to hear all their stories
thrilling and horrifying
because you learn so much from people
and it is the most beautiful thing.
if you have a story, don't be hesitant to share ~
I carry so much love
within me,
it extends
beyond the horizon,
beyond the stars,
into infinite space,
to another world
in another time,

My love,
it is endless,
it is boundless,
it grows daily,
it lights up every night sky,
a fire burning ever so brightly,
it will continue to burn forevermore;
infinitely it will shine.

Let self-esteem make you beam.
Make thick-skin your fort.
Have Belief in every dream
And hold that Positive Thought.

It starts with a puddle or a pool
turns to a rivulet,
rainwater comes, fills.......then, over
time.....it becomes a true river...

we human beings are conceived,
nurtured inside the womb.....to develop
til it's time to be born...to this earth
we grow up.....we mature,
school...experiences, make us wiser
and, as we get older
.our own waters run deeper

we....are like the river...

our actions, reactions and decisions,
all depend on the tides of life...
our moods are waves...playful on a fine day,
they lap, roll...sometimes, crash on the shore.
calm now...later, high with turbulence,
on stormy days, assailing...belligerent,
courageously moving forward.....then back,
like retreating groups of warriors,
weary....defeat-stricken.......yet, all set,
to roll back to shore.......again...

our grounds, our cores, are embedded
with grains of Patience...it has a voice
in many ways, we become one with nature
we...are like the river...

(I am afraid of the water, yet, I love writing about it...
and when I write about rivers, a name keeps popping
     up...that of a good poet friend...Harlon Rivers!)

My name is Kunte Kinte,
I've come from lands far away.
I was taken hostage and prisoner,
And forced to be a slave.

Those people took away my name,
And gave me another instead.
My name is now Toby,
And thus Toby I became.

Few weeks past,
I ran away.
I was caught and whipped,
And forced to work again.

I ran away again,
I was caught again too.
This time they also,
Cut off my right foot.

I married a lady named Bell,
Who was black and a slave like me,
We had a little daughter,
Whom I loved and named Kizzy.

I died of a broken heart,
When my wife was bought and sold.
I now lay in a grave,
My story forgotten and in everlasting cold.
After you watch Roots......
