An empty Soul that doesn't bleed
A marble mind that won't wreck
An elastic heart which doesn't break
To fall again, It's what I need

A temper that doesn't fray
Is something for which I pray
Tenacity past the sticks and stones
And an umbrella through the storms

A mind ready for whatever comes
Skills to negotiate past the bends
Stone deaf to rumors by friends
For those are the sunder drums

Eyes blind to indiscretion
A Mouth that will not question
Feet too crippled to walk away
With patience to take it day by day

Amnesia to forget that I am torn
The belief,nothing's cast to stone
Yeah,for me to fall again
I need courage to face and bear pain

The moon and the sun,
When one is up, the other is down.

Just like our **love
We were always there, but we never meet.

Sleep, darling
I have a small
daughter called
Cleis, who is

like a golden
flower
I wouldn't
take all Croesus'
kingdom with love
thrown in, for her

---

Don't ask me what to wear
I have no embroidered
headband from Sardis to
give you, Cleis, such as
I wore
and my mother
always said that in her
day a purple ribbon
looped in the hair was thought
to be high style indeed

but we were dark:
a girl
whose hair is yellower than
torchlight should wear no
headdress but fresh flowers

colour and crashes
big eyes and lashes
this is you in mourning.

white latex gloves
white flying doves
this is you today.

careful breathes
careless lefts
this is you without.

bright flowy skirt
a smile that can flirt
this is you with him.

big perfect grin
crying over him
this is you at your finest.

smoke in the air
thick curly hair
this is you and me.
for my Madison.

There may be still something
Buried I forgot to mention
Hurried less of traction, worried
Mess of apprehension
Lost with flurry of attraction
Ever-tumbled trapped suspension
Meager fraction of retention
Costing furious reaction
Cold inaction, condescension
My distraction, not intention

A human says,
"Last night I dreamed of…"

A poet says,
"You made me dream of…"
sometimes I forget to dream

You're a constant reminder that poetry can't fix everything.
