When I heard at the close of the day how my name
  had been receiv’d with plaudits in the capitol, still
it was not a happy night for me that follow’d;
And else, when I carous’d, or when my plans were accomplish’d,
still I was not happy;
But the day when I rose at dawn from the bed of perfect health,
refresh’d, singing, inhaling the ripe breath of autumn,
When I saw the full moon in the west grow pale and disappear
in the morning light,
When I wander’d alone over the beach, and *******, bathed,
laughing with the cool waters, and saw the sun rise,
And when I thought how my dear friend, my lover, was on his way
coming, O then I was happy;
O then each breath tasted sweeter—and all that day my food
nourish’d me more—and the beautiful day pass’d well,
And the next came with equal joy—and with the next, at evening,
came my friend;
And that night, while all was still, I heard the waters roll slowly
continually up the shores,
I heard the hissing rustle of the liquid and sands, as directed to me,
whispering, to congratulate me,
For the one I love most lay sleeping by me under the same cover
in the cool night,
In the stillness, in the autumn moonbeams, his face was inclined
toward me,
And his arm lay lightly around my breast—and that night I was happy.
Is it true what people say
did the Earth have trees
and oceans
did life run free
for as far as the eye could see.

Is it true what people say
did Humans **** animals for fun
pollute the air they needed,
did no one listen to the warnings
did no one stop them.

Is it true what people say
did we leave Earth
because we killed it?
Based on a conversation that may take place someday in the future
Are you wounded?
There are endless ways that life can mar your heart
I need not read off the written list
For it would wind around the world
Again and again and again
Resembling a paper mache ball

Are you wounded?
Feeling beyond repair?
Oh, I hear you
And I don't know
Your persistent, internal struggles
Nor you truly mine
But I'm writing to testify now
That I'm still here

Though words can often seem empty
I'm proclaiming today: Never give up
When you think you've felt too much
Know that the sun rises every day without fail
And like its beacon of light
A glorious, universal flame
Take heed of its returning presence
And do likewise

For there is always someone else
Who is just as hurting as you
Or even worse
Who needs your light
To shine his or her way
And banish the suffocating darkness
So share your torch
It just might initiate a spreading trend

Don't let your pain be in vain
Sweet love takes most time
when you're waiting for the one.
Still it doesn’t come
the way you expect it to
for love has no time to meet.

One day we’ll meet
for the soul has one to match;
that’s when we have met,
then our soul will feel complete
and eternity feels near.

Then endless sunshine
with white clouds covering the land,
slow warm breeze blowing
deep into our hearts of spring,
and white rose growing for love.

Purity of us
feel like an eternity;
for our love has met
and the endless search cease.
No love will feel greater than ours.
Working progress. Getting back to writing poetry. Any comments or critiques are welcome.
