Nothing worse
than looking at the one you love-
only to realize,
they do not look back.

Instead
you find the paint on the wall
is a different color--
no longer matching the black
they once engrained.
Shreaded heart due to color of the skin,
Lonesome nights due to attire I'm found in,
Invisible due to the identity I'm lacking,
How can it be that all of this is still happening?

Inocence in a cell because the color tries to define them,
Eyes of hate cover the dark hair upon them,
Forget the studies if papers weren't probided,
How can we live passing all the judgement?

Military veteran, but color over sees it,
Depressive memories drowning a person's surroundings,
Brought accross at the age of no concience,
Let us widen out eyes to see instead of look,
To listen rather that simply hear,
To speak not talk,
To extinguish this judgement basing on the cover of an incredible story that may walk right past your ignorance.

We always judge people without knowing them, or by their race, what they wear, and other things.

Have you ever felt empty
Have you ever felt numb
Have you ever felt blurry
Have you ever felt dumb

                                                                             Have you ever  felt broken
                                                                             Have you ever felt betrayed
                                                                             Have you ever felt barren
                                                                             Have you ever felt decayed

Have you ever felt anxious
Have you ever felt vacant
Have you ever felt darkness
Have you ever felt dormant

                                                                             Have you ever felt shallow
                                                                             Have you ever felt bleary
                                                                             Have you ever felt hollow
Have you ever felt like **me

what is not
may seem what is
an innocent thought
small things we miss

what we want is all we hear
ignorant masks to hide our faces
but don't be fooled again my dear
ugly things hide in beautiful places

Immobilized I gaze at the ceiling
Remembering the moments that led to this evening
I choke on the words I dare not say
Forced to deal with the pain that plagues me each day

Piercing each nerve
Giving way to exasperation
Resentment hangs heavy
and I feel suffocated
Another day alone plotting my reparation
These fantasies could end my senses and reason

I wish I could inflict the same anguish upon him
Wounding his pride leaving him with nothing
If only he could feel helplessness and shame
To a degree in which he would never be the same
Only then could my hate begin to wane

There is solace in being alone
Memories etched in the heart
Loneliness cannot breach
Memoirs scripted by them
Every word infused with love

one day my teacher asked me
why I always wrote in lowercase letters
her glasses perched on the top of her beak
she squawked,
"you were not taught that in school, young lady.
it is not proper, young lady."

and I gripped my pen tighter
or maybe a little looser
it's hard to tell lately.

but I looked in to her black beady eyes
and disapproving frowny face
and whispered "see how I am whispering
do you see how you are leaning closer
like I have a secret
more intimate, correct?
that is my writing:
an intimate secret.
for you"
