shout at the TV
shout at the cat
shout at your wife
shout at the noise outside
shout at yourself in the mirror
shout at your life
shout it all to rights
three minute man
watch the door slam.
Haydn Swan Oct 2014
Time cares not for your tears,
nor contemplates the weary years,
it toils with its prey inside its lair,
feasting on our pain and despair,

It cannot sooth a weeping soul,
or spirit dark as blackened coal,
it bares no comforting arms to hold,
just scorns in jest as our life's unfold.
Haydn Swan Jan 2015
We are the tin men
never the thin men
we walk in lines
within confines
never to weep
seek emortal sleep
Haydn Swan Nov 2015
To dream of love is to find ones self
lifting pebbles in a field full of rocks
gazing through a mist of souls
searching through moonbeams
hiding in shadows that have never been cast
shining eyes through a blood red haze
drifting through these crystal days
gods that dream in the autumn light
slender arms on a  cold winters night
calm the rhythms of this eternal dance
as hearts take flight in a cerebral trance.
Haydn Swan Sep 2014
Crawling through hoops made of pain,
standing tall in claustrophobic spaces,
Seeing through eyes, that see through eyes,
Taking on forms that transcend consciousness,
Retreat to warmth,
Ice cold,
Seek Journeys end.
Haydn Swan Jun 2017
We are the vapours in time,
proud, aloof and in our prime,
the transcendence of forgotten youth,
drifting through the parodies of truth,
we collect the black clouds of despair,
wear them as trophies in our hair,
souls amidst the tombs of hope,
woven together like coils of rope,
we dance to an unknown tune,
our redemption is upon us soon,
brother and sister you see it too,
that you are me and I am you.
Haydn Swan Oct 2014
Permanently fixed to the rest room wall,
waiting for the golden rain to fall,
oh you've many a tale to tell,
The stains on your sides, the distinctive smell,
That gum in the drain hole, spat out in haste,
The crown and glory ‘mongst the human waste.
All those members, large and small,
have hung over your orifice, you've seen them all,
Your starting to choke on the ***** hair,
While drunk men with whiskey breath,  look down and stare,
no one seems to notice your vitreous gleam,
under the constant haze of the ***** stream,
you just suffer in silence and long for the day,
When you’re no longer needed and they take you away.
Haydn Swan Oct 2014
The sky falls down,
we try to see through the mist,
reaching out in desperation,
we touch the unknown.
Haydn Swan Sep 2014
This life, this love, this death,
all have meaning yet all fade into the jaded darkness that lays on the other side of our sunlit morning,
touching the untouchable,
reaching through the veil,
our dreams carry us forward as if resting on an ancient burial raft,
gently drifting down the stream into a unseen oblivion.

Haydn Swan Oct 2014
We are the virus,
The disease ridden art of perfection,
eroded by a cancerous cyst,
turned a whiter shade of pale,
paper thin beauty in a beholders eye,
stifled laughs through blackened lungs,
drip fed tears through a wrinkled skin,
we see our dust start to fall,
prelude turns to interlude,
our truth and destiny,
the moth eaten robes of a transient soul.
the disintegration of the human form, old age.
Haydn Swan Dec 2020
I see the twinkle still in your eyes,
the grey clouds closing in on your smile,
ambiguous laughter still echo's in my ears,
ghosts that walk through the shadows you cast,
reaching with a hand I cannot touch,
grasping I wish to touch your soul,
there are tears but only in my eyes, not yours,
I see it tearing you away,
like a desert carcass waiting for the rain,
disappearing, fading, translucence.
if I could only wear your mantel,
takeaway the weight from weary bones,
time to rest your head on my shoulder,
sleep only sleep, my sister, sleep,
tally with me and we shall ride the morning.
I wrote this for my sister who is in the advanced stages of progressive MS.
Haydn Swan Apr 2015
Oranges and greens
go paint your dreams
but I'll wear my shroud
under a dark black cloud
your equitus smiles
and falseness beguiles
ashen faced frowns
on the face of the clowns
the paint that you wear is a thin veneer
a veil of crimson over all that you fear
so sup the wine and let it flow
for what you shall reap is all that you sow
Haydn Swan Nov 2017
In the twilight hour, we turn to our dreams.
seeking that which cannot be sought,
secrets behind the moons smile,
stars that whisper of our demise,
floating streams that carry our promises,
warmth on sun drenched sands,
the coldness of a lovers kiss,
cloaks of the dead wrapped around our soul,
in the quiet slumber of sleep,
all means nothing yet illuminates our way,
centurions of the hidden gates,
morning brings us forth to the light.

The film plays through a cigarette haze,
spliced souls flicker on the silver screen,
noir shapes moving through the mist,
dark shadows and beating hearts,

soon the story starts to unfurl,
plots thicken through startled eyes,
rehearsed actions and missing words,
electrification through a Gothic grin,

tears fall on the words of a script
undulations of what we once were,
the movie closes to a final score
torn manifestos as the credits roll.

please dig around here for the abstracts, folks,  this is not just a poem about a movie but then again maybe it is ........
Haydn Swan Apr 2015
I was opened the wrong way
forced against the natural motion
once carefully constructed and precision made
now laid down and broken asunder
hanging precariously from the frame
waiting to be fixed and aligned
I have become unhinged
everything bent out of shape
delicately balanced and waiting for the fall
won't someone fix these hinges
***** them back into the wall
won't someone hang me straight and true
all the tools are here, it's not hard to do.
Haydn Swan Nov 2017
The sanctuary of pleasures unknown,
to nurture the soul in the warm waters of a cerebral fix, yours for the taking if you could only see what I see, feel what I feel,
martyrdom, if only for a day, for a night,
the train arrives, come jump on board,
take your seat, it bears your name,
we will travel to worlds never seen,
to destinations unknown,
come take my hand and we will sojourn there,
to the waste lands, the places band that you have been told never to go,
seek and you will find, learn and you shall reap that which you sow.
Haydn Swan Feb 2015
You violate me with your delicious tenture,
licking my soul with your words,
making my skin tingle with the anticipation of your thoughts,
******* me with your mind,
twisted obscurity in an ******* delight,
the cardinal remnants left trickling down my legs
breathing obscenities in a heterophonic haze
Haydn Swan Apr 2015
She wants to be noticed and seen
he see's only from within himself
mascara tears run down her face
black streams that reflect her soul
he see's nothing but a flickering screen
she recoils into a lonely asylum
sanctuary for the lonely hearts
lesser things are left unspoken
echos of the voices inside her head
he see's everything but is blind
she see's nothing but the void.
Haydn Swan Sep 2017
Stripped bare what are we ?
static electricity ?
impulses of energy ?
no, we are souls loose in a baron land,
wandering hermits tightly packed in shells,
memories, thoughts, feelings emotions,
all strung together in an ethereal corpse,
passed on like an Olympic torch,
after the shell has expired,
picked up by the next runner.
What defines you my friend ?
seek the answers in your weary dreams,
there you shall find your sanctuary.
Haydn Swan Mar 2015
I see the darkness form,
cloaking everything from within its fold,
shapeless forms appearing within the void,
unlocked only by dancing moonbeams,
fleeting through an unveiled window,
I hear the blackness call,
luring me into its calm serenity,
soothing my spirit with its words,
draping me with its veil
within it's sanctuary,
we shall elevate our souls
and rise up from the dead.
Haydn Swan Sep 2014
love once roamed freely within this hollow room,
now these walls confine me,
like an ancient, lost tomb,
tears flow, like blackened rain,
spirit in turmoil, head hung in shame.
I watch my breath through the stale, thin air,
as the ropes shadow beckons,
upon the cold wooden chair.

Haydn Swan Sep 2014
Tonight I feel her presence,
She heeds to the heartbeats call,
the candle light flickers with her breath,
The room chills in a balm of delight,
She is in the moonbeams that dance in cadence across the shadows of my room,
Her whispers ride the gentle wind outside,
I reach to touch her but there is nothing there,
only the tears that herald slumbers cruel jest,
All has been nothing but a dream.

love grieving loss
Haydn Swan Dec 2015
Within the sanctuary of a warm bed,
listening to the wind and rain outside,
I thought I could hear her voice,
faint and distant, soothing amidst the turmoil,
whispering to my soul,
atonement for the pain inside,
once upon an evening like this,
shall I hearken to her call,
joining her on the other side of the dark,
velvet shrouds of night,
reaching out and making me whole again.
Haydn Swan Apr 2016
Throw your soul down a wishing well,
so many lies in this kiss and tell,
black moon rising can you see,
only the darkness can set you free,
surrender it all and hear my call,
no one there to catch your fall,
casting shadows on all you hold dear,
look into my eyes and feel the fear.
Haydn Swan Sep 2014
In the swirling tempest she waits,
a spirit held in reverent patience and abandoned solace.
Just as it was always meant to be,
her ice cold hands reach out,
pulling me in to the unknown,
a void so willingly embraced.

Haydn Swan Nov 2016
Love slithered up my sleeve
like a sun parched python
coiling around my soul
making its home in the sanctuary found within
venemous words spit forth their guile
antitdote saught in nights comforting arms
the moons radiant smile comes forth from a bottle,
stars decadent radiance cascades from a tear,
I'll hide in a sucumbant dream,
on yesterdays and alibis I shall rest this weary head.
Haydn Swan Sep 2014
I look in to your eyes,
soul unlocked,
pain released,
drawn in,
consumed,
swimming in oceans of freedom,
never want to go back.

Haydn Swan Aug 2017
Ships that sail into distant unknown oceans,
sunsets that shine on summer lawns,
water that glistens on a frosty morn,
flowers that unfurl in the springtime breeze,
darkest of gems that cannot be fathomed,
black mirrors of a fortune tellers wares,
flickering candles on a moonlit night,
shadows that move across a darkened room,
moon beams dancing across a hidden path,
eyes within eyes, soul within soul,
horizons new, my morning dew.
Haydn Swan Jun 2015
If I was to gaze into those eyes what would I see,
diamonds and jewels glistening in the morning dew,
blazing fire as they gaze into a crimson sky,
the blood red reflections mirroring your burning soul,
in such vitreous pools lay anchored ships of fools,
casting off their chains , setting sail to faraway lands,
ghosts that wander through the shadows,
moonbeams reflecting on a porcelain skin,
beacons through the darkness shining forth on rainbow shores,
there shall I seek my sanctuary until mornings new light.
